Ingredients

Cake

Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon  vanilla

Instructions

Cake

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees
  • Grease all sides of your bundt pan well
  • Beat cake mix, water, oil, eggs and pudding mix in large bowl and pour into pan. Make sure there is enough room for the cake to rise. Fill pan about 3/4 of the way full.
  • Bake 35-45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Let cool for 5-10 minutes, then poke holes halfway into the cake with the end of a wooden spoon. Be careful not to poke holes all the way through the cake.
  • Pour caramel syrup into the holes, let rest for a few minutes as it soaks into the cake.
  • Pour condensed milk into the holes next.
  • Let cool completely for about 5-10 minutes
  • Place your cake platter upside down over the bottom of the cake pan and turn the pan over so the platter is now upright. The cake should gently slide out of the bundt pan onto the dish.
  • Drizzle caramel and chocolate syrup over the top of the cake.
  • Sprinkle the top with Heath bits.

Homemade Whipped Cream

  • Add a large mixing bowl into the freezer and chill for 5-10 minutes.
  • Remove bowl and add the heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar and vanilla. Use a hand-held mixer and mix on low speed and increase to medium-high until fluffy and peaks form.
  • Slice cake and serve with a large spoonful of fresh whipped cream sprinkled with more Heath bits and a drizzle of chocolate syrup.

  1. I made this yesterday for my sweetie’s birthday and it was a huge hit! Everyone loved it and my sweetie went back for not only seconds but thirds, and he never does that! The only change I made was I made my own caramel sauce. Also my market did not have heath bits so I bought heath bars and put them in a ziplock bag and smashed them – worked great! Absolutely delicious!

  2. I made this awesome better then ? Cake last evening when my Mother-in-law came for dinner.
It was a huge hit. Everyone loved it and had to take “ go “ slices as well.
My husband actually a “chocolate lover” even got out of bed at midnight for another slice.
I made cake exactly as recipe suggested but I also added a little coconut and chopped pecans on the top. It was Amazing and I am not a big chocolate fan. Will absolutely make this cake again and AGAIN. Thank you for sharing your recipe.

  3. I would do some research about cakes and cooking in high elevations. I’ve read where you should do these things:

    Increase Oven Temperature by 15-25?

    Decrease Baking Time by 20-30%
This is to compensate for the increased oven temperature.

  4. I am going to make this at 4500 ft elevation. Are there any adjustments to the recipe for higher elevation?

  5. I am planning to make this and take it three hours to another state for a friends birthday. Does this cake need to be refrigerated or eaten sooner than that? Can it sit that long?

  6. Made it exactly as written and it got rave reviews! I actually used a narrow funnel to poke holes in the cake and insert the caramel and condensed milk. Several people had seconds!

  7. I’m looking for a recipe for chocolate chip cookies that are not fluffy on the inside. My brandished to make them where the cookie flattened out and was crunchy. Anybody?

  8. Not yet but it reminds me of the Pillsbury Tunnel of Fudge I made in the middle 60’s. IT was wonderful, but they stopped making the frosting mix, that made the tunnel. Thank you for sharing. I’ll give it’s try.

I remember, I think it took 3 sticks of butter, with other ingredients for the cake and one package of a Double Dutch chocolate frosting mix with a couple cups of nuts. There was no frosting on the top and must of weighed 5 pounds, but was delicious.

  9. Sorry just noticed you said 6 cup up top. Great will make and comment – looks so good can’t wait!
    : ))

  10. Sorry a 6 oz bundt pan? or 6 cup (I’m new to bundt pans….looks so good dying to make this and just got small, med and large bundt pans (on sale)….thinking perhaps it’s 6 cup…

  11. I would like a response to your query as well, Joyce. Even clicking on the “find the bundt pan” link, the comments there said this size bundt pan is for a half box of batter. I couldn’t possibly eat the remaining batter right out of the bowl that didn’t fit into the bundt pan 😉

  12. this cake sounds amazing can hardly wait to make it
You said you use the six cup bundt do you us two wouldn’t it overflow
a regular cake mix is usual for a ten to twelve cup bundt pan
When I use the beautiful six c ones I make something like a bread from a muffin mix or use two for a cake mix
I have been baking for sixty years and have more than 30 plus different size bundt pans.
    Love them.
    Appreciate your response
    Have a Happy Thanksgiving Joyce
