I have shared many delicious margarita recipes over the years. I am partial to this beer margarita because it’s so easy, but I’m telling you that most people will really like this homemade margarita mix.

What I love about this recipe, is it’s perfect for making margaritas by the pitcher. I always make this before a party to have on hand when someone wants a fresh margarita.

How to Make Margarita Mix

Try making this margarita mix for your next party. It’s so easy to mix up your own simple syrup from water and sugar, then all you have to do is add your fresh squeezed juices and it’s ready to go!

I like adding a little bit of orange juice to my margarita mix, but that is totally optional.

The orange gives the mix a less tart flavor. Keep this margarita mix chilled for up to a week.

Margarita Mix

This Margarita Mix recipe is an easy homemade mix you can make at home. Add tequila for a pitcher of margaritas or a margarita by the glass. A simple classic cocktail recipe for any party!

Ingredients

  • cups  water
  • 3 cups  granulated sugar
  • cups  fresh lemon juice (about 10 lemons)
  • cups  fresh lime juice (about 10-12 limes)
  • ¾ cup fresh orange juice (about 2 oranges) optional

Instructions

How to Make Margarita Mix

  • Combine the water and sugar into a large saucepan. Stir frequently over a medium high heat until the sugar is dissolved. Bring to a boil to create simple syrup, then remove from heat and let cool.
  • Mix in the lemon, lime and orange juice (optional).
  • Pour the margarita mix into an air tight container and refrigerate for up to a week.

How to Make a Single Serving Margarita

  • Add salt to a plate and run a lime wedge around the rim of a glass. Dip the glass into the salt.
  • Add equal parts of margarita mix and tequila into a cocktail shaker filled with ice. About 2 ounces each.
  • Shake, pour into your margarita glass and enjoy!

How to Make a Pitcher of Margaritas

  • Add 4 cups Margarita Mix and 4 cups of tequila to a pitcher. Stir and chill until ready to serve. Add slices of limes and ice if desired.

Notes

To make frozen margaritas, freeze the mix in ice cube trays.

  3. I like this recipe because it’s flexible. You can add liqueur if you want something boozy and stay alcohol-free so the kids can drink it too. Freezing them is an excellent idea because you can prepare everything all at once, pop them in the freezer, and consume them whenever you want.
