This Cute Printable Bookmark Craft is the Perfect Book Club Activity!

If you want a creative and fun book club craft idea for your next meeting, girls’ night, or cozy gathering, I have the cutest idea for you!

I recently designed a brand new printable bookmark craft kit for my book club, and I have to tell you, it was a massive hit. My new miniature bookshelf bookmark is a fun DIY printable craft kit where everyone gets to play librarian, cutting and gluing tiny books onto a blank bookshelf template to create their own custom bookmark!

Easy Conversation-Starter Craft

Not only is this Bookmark Craft Kit a fun and inexpensive project, but it also doubles as an amazing icebreaker. Watching everyone talk about their favorite books, debate which authors deserved a spot on their shelves, and swap book recommendations across my kitchen island was half the fun!

Plus everyone gets to leave with a pretty personalized keepsake they made themselves. It’s like a mini work of art! I added all of my favorite books I have read over the past year and absolutely love my new bookmark.

Setting Up the Ultimate Bookmark Craft Station

One of the best parts about this craft is how easy it is to set up. You don’t need a massive workspace because everything fits neatly on a kitchen island or table.

To keep things running smoothly, I laid out a simple, inviting craft station before everyone arrived. Here is what I had ready to go:

  • The Essentials: The printed bookshelf bookmarks (already cut out) and sheets of miniature book covers.
  • Tools: A few pairs of scissors, glue sticks, or double-sided tape.
  • Finishing Touches: Hole punches, colorful bookmark tassels, and bookmark lamination sheets. (optional)
  • The Pro-Finish: Have a lamination machine set up and ready for anyone who wants to seal their bookmark for a polished, durable finish. (optional)

How To Prepare Your Miniature Books

To make craft time go quicker, I printed several sheets of the miniature book page from my Bookmark Printable Kit. One page, used as a sample template so guests could see what books were available to choose from.

With the other printed pages, I cut some books out completely and used a cutting board to easily trim the paper.

I then placed several miniature book stations around the table, so each person could cut their favorite books out themselves.

Easy & Customizable

Once everyone settled in, the actual crafting took only about 15 to 20 minutes. Because it’s so quick and low mess, people actually had plenty of time to make multiple bookmarks, one for themselves and a few extra to gift to fellow readers!

Whether you choose to laminate them for extra durability or leave them as crisp paper keepsakes, it’s a budget-friendly project that packs a huge creative punch for any home gathering.
