60 of the BEST Crock Pot Recipes!
I love Slow Cooker Crock Pot Recipes and have often wondered what it would be like to have a personal chef.
How wonderful it would be to come home from a long day of playing taxi and cheerleader to my kids, and walk in the door to a delicious ready made dinner! It has never happened, but I dream about it often.
Then the other day IT DID HAPPEN!! Not exactly like in my dreams, but close enough.
You see, I knew we had a long evening of practice, meetings, etc, so I planned ahead and put some beef in my Crock Pot. I was gone all day and forgot about it. When I opened the door, exhausted and frankly thinking it was a cereal kind of night, the smell of tender, juicy, spicy goodness hit me.
Dinner was on the table in less then 10 minutes. I have to tell you it was such a great feeling!
What is the difference between a slow cooker and a Crock Pot?
First, I need to clarify this question that I get asked a lot. A Crock Pot is a kind of slow cooker, but not all slow cookers are Crock Pots. A Crock Pot is a slow cooker brand such as Kleenex is a brand of tissue.
What can I cook in the Crock Pot?
Well, you can cook just about anything! We have found over 60 fantastic Crock Pot recipes listed below that can help us all have less stressful evenings any night of the week.
How Do I Convert a Recipe to a Slow Cooker?
To cook a recipe in a Crock Pot or Slow Cooker, consider the recipe. Casseroles and soups are perfect for the Crock Pot. If your stovetop or oven recipe calls for browning meat, make sure you don’t skip that step. Most soups and stews can simmer away on low for several hours in the Crock Pot. If you are making a casserole cook on high heat for 4 hours or low heat for 6 to 8 hours.
Tips to Convert a Recipe from Slow Cooker to Instant Pot
- Add at least one cup of liquid to your recipe.
- Do not add dairy ingredients such as sour cream or milk until the end of cooking.
- Brown meat on saute mode if the recipe calls for it.
- Adjust your cooking times–a lot! Use a cheat sheet like this one to help determine how long your food should cook.

If it were up to my husband, we would eat beef recipes every night. He just loves it and it does not matter how it is cooked. Nothing is better then tender beef with soft veggies and a rich gravy to top it off.
I also love it as a filler for tortillas and buns. Anyway you shred it, slice it, and serve it we all enjoy it!
Crock Pot Slow Cooker Chicken and Pork Recipes
Chicken recipes are also a favorite of ours! We also add pork dishes a lot as well. Paired with just about anything from veggies to fruit these two meats are fantastic and easy to cook.
You can also use leftovers on a salad for a great to-go lunch.
Crock Pot Vegetables and Side Dish Recipes
One night a week I try to go meatless. It is just a good time to make sure we get our veggies in. We love vegetables in our house, but there are a few of them that are just better when you add them to a soup or on top of a pasta.
Try veggie night in your house with a slow cooker and see how you like it!
