5 Ingredient Neiman Marcus Million Dollar Dip
This recipe for the famous Neiman Marcus Million Dollar Dip has been a popular southern dip served at parties for nearly 70 years.
Lucky for us, we don’t have to be a millionaire to enjoy this amazingly easy 5 ingredient dip.
What is the Neiman Marcus Dip History?
This history behind the Neiman Marcus dip is so interesting, especially since it’s endured such popularity for over half a century!
Million Dollar Dip was first created in the 1950’s by the Neiman Marcus Director of Food Services, Helen Corbitt.
The Zodiac Room in the Neiman Marcus’s downtown Dallas location is the first to serve this amazing cheese spread. It eventually became known around the nation as Million Dollar Dip because it tasted like a million bucks!
The Neiman Marcus Million Dollar Dip recipe is just one of Helen Corbitt’s famous creations. She has also been credited as one of the best chefs in Texas, who also made Texas caviar a huge hit among the south.
If you’ve never tried Texas Caviar, check out my recipe for Cajun Caviar here. (It’s the same recipe with a different name.)
What are the Million Dollar Dip Ingredients?
What makes this dip so great is that it only calls a few ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need for this 5 ingredient Neiman Marcus dip:
Mayonnaise – You don’t want to use Miracle Whip, you have to use real Mayo for the best taste.
Cheddar Cheese – Finely shredded cheese tastes the best in my opinion.
Green Onions – The green onions should be sliced thinly and will provide that added crunch.
Almonds – Sliced almonds are another great crunchy ingredient in this dip. You can also use chopped pecans if you prefer.
Bacon – Make sure you cook real bacon slices and cut them into crumbles. You do not want to use packaged bacon bits for this recipe, only real bacon.
How Can You Serve This Dip Recipe?
This easy millionaire dip tastes amazing with all kinds of things! Serve as a dip or a cheese spread. Here are some ways to serve this dip:
Chips & Crackers – Served as a dip, RITZ crackers taste amazing with this dip. I also love tortilla chips, rye chips or Fritos.
Mini Toasted Bread – Add this dip to the top of mini toasts for fun party appetizers.
Bagel Chips – Spreading on top of bagel chips also makes a great snack.
Vegetables – Celery sticks, carrots, green peppers and cucumbers taste amazing with this dip.
Flour Tortillas – Spread this cheese dip onto a flour tortilla, roll and chill. Slice to make cheesy tortilla roll-up appetizers.
