DIY Paper Mouse Christmas Ornament

Cold winter days are the perfect excuse to cozy up indoors and get crafty with the kids! These adorable Paper Mouse Christmas Ornaments are one of my favorite simple holiday crafts — fun to make, budget-friendly, and absolutely charming hanging on your tree.

My kids loved making these sweet little mice, and I’m sure your family will too! You can use colorful scrapbook paper for a festive look or let kids decorate plain white paper with markers and glitter to make their own unique designs.

How to Make a Paper Mouse Christmas Ornament

Make cute DIY Paper Mouse Christmas Ornaments with kids! Easy holiday craft using scrapbook paper, pom-poms, and googly eyes for festive fun.

Supplies:

  • Scrapbook paper
  • Scissors
  • Clear tape
  • Googly eye stickers
  • Glue
  • Small pom-poms (for ears)
  • Pipe cleaners (for tails)
  • Small hole punch
  • Ribbon for hanging

Directions:

  1. Cut the paper: Start by cutting a 4-inch circle from scrapbook paper. You can use a paper punch or trace around a small bowl.
  2. Form the body: Cut the circle in half, then roll one half into a cone shape and secure it with clear tape.
  3. Add the face: Stick on googly eyes and glue two small pom-poms at the top for ears.
  4. Create the tail: Tape a pipe cleaner inside the back edge of the cone. Trim and bend it into a fun curly shape.
  5. Hang it up: Use a hole punch to make a small hole at the top, then thread ribbon through to hang your ornament.
Tip: You can also hang your mouse upside down by its tail for extra cuteness!
  6. Optional finishing touch: Tear off a small piece of tissue paper, crinkle it up, and tuck it inside the cone to hide the tape and make your ornament look extra tidy.
