After baking pizza on the grill, I’m totally hooked on pizza vs burgers or hot dogs for a barbecue! So you’ll notice some yummy Ristorante Pizza by Dr. Oetker on my patriotic party table. It’s the best for grilling because of the delicious thin crust.
I’m loving the Pizza Speciale with Edam, mozzarella, spicy herbs, pepperoni and cooked ham. The flavors are just like homemade!
I searched through my cabinets to find a blue square container and once it was all together, I thought this veggie tray turned out terrific!
I have to admit that dipping the delicious crispy pizza into the dill dip is very tasty!
I found these cute red, white and blue containers at Michaels and they were perfect for serving the grilled pizza.
Can you guess what I made the stars from? They are radishes cut with a small star fondant cutter! You could use cucumbers, but they won’t be as white.
I hope you enjoy this vegetable tray platter idea! If you grill some Ristorante Pizza or make this veggie tray for the 4th of July, share a photo with me on my Facebook page. I’d love to see how it turned out!
What you’ll need to make the American Flag Vegetable Tray Platter…
- 1 Large Cookie Sheet
- Square Container for Dip – I used a sandwich container similar to this.
- Small Star Fondant Cutter
- 3 Cucumbers
- 10-15 Radishes
- Grape Tomatoes
- 2 Red Peppers
Dill Dip Ingredients
- 1/2 cup Fat Free Sour Cream
- 1/2 cup Mayonnaise
- 8 oz. Light Cream Cheese
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Dill, minced
- 2 tablespoon Fresh Parsley, minced
- 1 tablespoon Dried Minced Onion
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 6-10 Drops of Blue Food Coloring
Slice the vegetables and line them up on the cookie sheet in rows of white and red.
Mix all ingredients of the dip together in a bowl. Gradually add a few drops of the food coloring until you get the desired blue.
Add the dip to a square container and place in the top left side of the cookie sheet. Thinly slice a radish and cut stars then place in rows on the dip.
Serve with grilled pizza and fruit for a fun and simple 4th of July dinner!
