Piping Hack for Mess-Free Desserts

Want to pipe whipped cream onto your desserts without making a mess? Here’s a genius hack:

Hack: Use a Ziplock Bag and a Tall Glass

Instructions:

  1. Tall Glass: Place the tip of a ziplock bag or pipping bag inside of a tall glass. Wrap the edges around the rim of the glass to hold it in place.
  2. Fill: Spoon your whipped cream into the part of the bag that is inside of the glass.
  3. Remove, Seal and Snip: Remove the bag from the glass, twist and seal the bag, removing as much air as possible. Snip off a small corner of the bag to create a makeshift piping bag.
  4. Pipe Away: Gently squeeze the bag to pipe the whipped cream onto your desserts. No fancy piping tools needed, and cleanup is a breeze!

Whipped Cream Hack: Stabilize It!

Ever notice how homemade whipped cream can start to wilt after a while? Here’s a nifty hack to keep it firm and fabulous for longer.
Hack: Add Gelatin
  • 1 teaspoon unflavored gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
Instructions:
Sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water in a small bowl. Let it sit for a few minutes until it looks like a gel.
Microwave the gelatin for a few seconds until it turns into a liquid. Let it cool slightly.
Start whipping your cream as usual. Once it starts to thicken, slowly pour in the gelatin mixture while continuing to beat. Voila! Stabilized whipped cream that won’t deflate on you.
