Anyone get the new Pottery Barn Kid’s catalog?

Here is my idea from last year’s 2009 back to school photos with my kids. At the time of writing on this chalkboard for my kids back to school photos, I had never seen anything like it before. My post went wild around the internet.

The Pottery Barn Kids catalog cover looks sort of familiar doesn’t it? I got a lot of emails about this, saying look… it’s your idea!! I think my mini chalkboard is much cuter with the kids. Easier for them to hold.

Now that Pottery Barn Kids has suckered me into their catalog with their cute idea of mine… look at the cute costume I found!

Oh my word, I’m going to buy this just for a baby photography prop! They have an older girl’s owl costume, but there is no way I can talk my daughter into being an owl. Princess, Butterfly or Fairy will always trump owl:-)

Off topic, but who in their right mind is spending $59 on a milk costume??? I’m just wondering outloud…

Thanks for thinking my idea was great enough for your catalog cover Pottery Barn Kids Creative Director! It did turn out very cute.

Share the fun!

  1. Nah, PB’s is totally different than yours – it’s bigger and uses all caps ;-).

Well, maybe you can buy that darling costume/prop with the proceeds from PB’s paying you for your creativity & session styling [big grin].

  4. Love it, not sure when they turn teenagers that they would like to use the chalkboard. but maybe they could write it out on a laptop in bigger letters & hold the laptop, or a white board etc.

You really do inspire us you know! Keep up the great work!

  5. My first baby is going to her first school (Pre-K) this year, and I’m all over the chalkboard idea. Pottery Barn Kids should give ya some royalties. 🙂 You made me laugh out loud about the milk costume. Seriously. Milk?

  6. That is so funny! I was totally going to do that for my Kali this year! I was thinking of maybe putting the date on the chalkboard. Wait until you see the outfit and photos I have in mind for her first day of kindergarten…my vision is fabulous…let’s hope the execution is just as good!
