After living in my home for 16 years, my dream of a new white kitchen finally came true! As you will see from my before photos, it was about dang time!
Modern Farmhouse White Kitchen Reveal
I love a mix of modern with a dash of farmhouse style. It was sure fun planning and decorating! I’m just so happy that it’s finally done. The bright color makes me so happy! I hope you get some inspiration from my new kitchen remodel.

Choosing Brands for a Kitchen Remodel
Choosing to remodel your kitchen is a HUGE deal with so many hard decisions to make. I’m so happy to that I partnered with (exclusive at The Home Depot), and for my kitchen remodel. They are both The Women’s Choice Award winners for the most recommended kitchen cabinets and kitchen appliances. Knowing that other women have voted them the top rated companies for kitchen products made choosing brands for my remodel so much easier!
New cabinets really made this kitchen! I chose Thomasville’s new Studio 1904 line for the kitchen cabinets. I wanted my cabinets to be more modern, extend up to the ceiling and also have a lot of great organizing features. The Studio 1904 line has cabinets that embrace the furniture legacy with a modern vintage vibe that is perfect for my modern farmhouse style.
As for the appliances, I chose the new Kenmore Pro line because I knew that this line could upgrade my kitchen appearance to a professional kitchen without changing sizes of my cabinets or relocating them. Kenmore Pro appliances are also affordable and full of amazing features! I really do feel like a pro chef now and love to use my new appliances. I lost 4 pounds just from cooking in the new kitchen the first week!
Are you ready for the before and after photos? I’m so excited!
I’ll give you a quick before and after problem that we solved. Glance at the photos, then come back and read the details. I’ll be sharing more on the appliances, pantry and kitchen cabinet organization soon!
The Kitchen Island
In this photo the big change was the kitchen island. Before, the bar stools were in our main walkway and nobody ever sat there. I didn’t like how you faced the side of the kitchen, I wanted people (my kids) sitting at the island to be able to talk to me while I was cooking.
Now the stools face my new Kenmore Pro gas range (where I stand most of the time), are not in a major walkway and hidden under a nice and neat cabinet! Thomasville Studio 1904’s wide cabinet selection allowed me to achieve the perfect configuration for my island.
I found these fun industrial barstools and the cage industrial pendant over the sink at Wayfair. The glass lights over the island are from Home Depot.
Bye Bye Desk
The big change in the next photo was getting rid of the desk that nobody ever used, adding more cabinets and moving my refrigerator so it wasn’t next to the doorway. We always got stuck in that doorway when someone was looking in the fridge.
I love the chandelier! I found it at Wayfair, but don’t think it’s available there anymore, but it’s HERE on Amazon!
Hello Barn Door!
The big change in the next photo was getting rid of the arched doorway to our garage! Instead, say hello to my new barn door!
I had a barn door custom built to hide the steel garage door. The area near the garage door was also an unused hallway to my dinning room. It’s now a kitchen pantry! I can’t wait to show you what we did with the pantry. Be sure to check back for more photos and details on the pantry.
Aren’t you loving the barn door? I love it so much!! Can’t wait to show you the other side. The floor is actually tile that looks like wood. (Swoon!)

More Photos…
Here are more close-up details of the new white kitchen! I can’t say enough good things about my new Delta Faucet and Pot Filler!
I also love my new Elkay sink! Get more details about my sink in this post –> here.
My mom passed away earlier this year. I was in the middle of designing it while taking care of her as she battled cancer. I’m glad she got to be in on some of the planning, just sad she couldn’t see the final design. Mom would have LOVED our new kitchen! I’m happy to have filled the kitchen with some of her collectibles such as these blue cookie jars.
I keep finding notes that my mom wrote to me. She knew I would forget what she told me about her vintage goodies! This note was in one of the blue jars.
I filled my floating shelves with some of mom’s kitchen as well. It’s nice to look up at this and remember her.
I love the range hood that was a part of the Thomasville Cabinets collection. It made a huge difference!
I’m in love with our new Kenmore Pro fridge! I’ll share more details with you about it soon. AND you won’t want to miss what’s in the cabinet next to the fridge. More details about my kitchen organization is coming soon!
Another view next to the sink. These drawers have been life changing!
I kept my old table and updated it with some white paint. For a quick fix, I thought it turned out great!
I hope you enjoyed the tour! Be sure to check back soon to see more details.

If there’s one thing that nearly every review mentions, it’s the taste. The juice mix is very refreshing with a cool sort of minty flavor. It tastes much better than other greens drinks that I’ve tried. Patriot power greens
I love Modern Design kitchens and I love white, even though it gets dirty quickly.

Thanks Casey – That curtain was a custom order through a designer, so I’m not sure where it came from exactly. Look for a white woven blind when searching online.
Hi! What a beautiful kitchen! ๐ Where is the curtain on the window above the kitchen sink from? Thank you!
Please tell me more about your flooring — brand name and where to buy! It’s exactly what I want!!!
Thanks so much! Sorry, I did’t realize that my light was not at Wayfair anymore. I found it on Amazon though! https://amzn.to/2JHBUZD
OMG! That’s my dream kitchen! I like how you used lots of shades and texture of white together. They are not boring. Could you let me know the name of big woody pedant lights over your dining table? I have always wanted one like this. The link you posted is not directly linked to that specific lamp. Thank you so much in advance!!!
I have a VERY tight area between my dishwasher door and the island, but it’s worth it. Hopefully you can fit one.
Your kitchen is so beautiful; what a transformation. I have a similar layout to my kitchen but no island. It’s difficult finding inspiration shots for this layout. Everything I’ve read says I can’t fit an island in my space. Looking at you kitchen though, I have the same number of cabinets and all the appliances in the same spots as well as the doorway (mine is a french pocket door to the dining room though. Are you able to share the dimensions of your kitchen? Thanks. And again amazing!
Thank you Lois! I got 3-4 different sizes of pulls. I haven’t noticed any scuff marks on my cabinets at all. The only thing I constantly clean are the pulls! They are brushed satin nickel square bar pulls by Top Knobs.
I love it!!! It is really amazing. I enjoyed your new kitchen tour. Thanks for sharing and for the tips and ideas. God bless you.
Hi Amy,
Thanks for sharing the wonderful pictures of your new kitchen. The kitchen is beautiful. I am redoing our kitchen right now and am interested in knowing the name of your cabinet hardware. I want all pulls and no knobs. How many different sizes did you use? Also, I am considering painting my island a darker color because of the wear and tear but I like your White Island. Does it get dirty and scuffed with show marks?
Thank you! The countertops are quartz.
I love your white kitchen!
I love everything about it!
I was wondering what your counter tops are.
Sile stone?
Thanks! I had the shelves made. Love them!
This is beautiful! Do you know where your floating shelves are from? They are exactly what I am looking for!
Thanks so much Cheryl! Yes, come visit anytime:-)
Thanks Nancy! It’s so exciting.
Thanks!! I don’t have a link to the lights, but you should be able to find them in the stores now.
That is my new pot filler.
Goodness me, I am also in love with your new Kenmore Pro fridge! this looks stylish and beautiful. Looks like a perfect kitchen.
WOW! It looks Fabulous.
Beautiful! Love your choices. Do you have a link to the Home Depot pendant lights.
What is the function of the articulating arm over the stovetop?
Beautiful!! What kind of counter tops do you have ?
Oh, Amy! I always thought your kitchen was beautiful, but this transformation is absolutely stunning! I love how clean and bright it is!
Wow!!! What a great job you did! Such a stunning kitchen and I think your Mom’s antiques fit in perfectly. That is such a sweet way to always remember and have her with you.
Thanks so much!! It’s amazing what a difference painting the cabinets will make in your new home. The chairs are from At Home. I worked with Melody Jurick Designs on the tile. I’ll have to ask her what it is. I love the barn wood look.
Thanks!! I’m so excited!
Amy it’s STUNNING! I’ve been in your old kitchen……I think I see a trip to Texas in my future to see the new kitchen in person!
I’m really hopping to give our kitchen a facelift next year – we have a vaulted ceiling and a few other obstacles I’m not sure how to get around. But, I need more storage and want a bright space! Congrats and enjoy! You deserve it!!
Amy, job well done! Your kitchen is stunning ๐ I loved all the little changes that were made to make the kitchen more functional…brilliant! I just purchased my first home and will be upgrading the kitchen a bit…not a complete gut like yours, just painting the cabinets, upgrading the appliances, and floor tiles. Where did you find those tufted chairs?…they’re beautiful! And, do you mind sharing the brand and name of the floor tiles you used? Thank you for the tour. I can’t wait to see the pantry!!!
STUNNING Amy!
Thanks so much Amy! It took a long time, but worth it!
Oh WOW! I mean – this is seriously amazing. WOOOOW! Great job Amy! You’ve outdone yourself!
Thanks Jessica!
zippity do dah daaaaaay!! Wowwwww!!! Looks fabulous! Nicely done ๐
Crazy right? Thanks so much!
Absolutely amazing!!!! It’s stunning!!! What a difference between the before and after photos.
