Mickey Hanging Ghost – A Magical Disney-Themed Halloween Craft
Whether you’re hosting a Disney Halloween party or just want to add a touch of Disney magic to your home, this budget-friendly craft is sure to be a hit. You can even pick up most of the supplies from Dollar Tree!
What You’ll Need:
- Hanging Ghosts (Find on Amazon Here or at Dollar Tree)
- Battery-Operated Tea Light Candles
- Black Christmas Ornaments
- White Card Stock Paper
- Black Sharpie
- Scissors
- Knife
- Hot Glue and Glue Gun
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Prep the Ghost Head
Start by detaching the material from the styrofoam head of your hanging ghost.
Use a sharp knife to carefully cut a hole into the styrofoam, just big enough to fit a battery-operated tea light candle. This will allow your Mickey Ghost to light up at night!
2. Adjust the Fabric
Twist the fabric around so that the original ghost face is now on the back. Hot glue the fabric in place at the top to secure it. Be sure to leave enough room to easily turn the tea light candle on and off.
3. Create Mickey’s Ears
Use the knife to poke small holes on either side of the ghost’s head. Insert black Christmas ornaments into the holes to create Mickey’s iconic ears. Secure them with hot glue.
4. Design Mickey’s Face
On the white card stock, draw Mickey’s ghost face using a black Sharpie. You can make the eyes, nose, and classic Mickey smile. For durability, consider laminating the card stock after drawing the face.
Cut out the eyes, nose, and smile with scissors.
5. Attach the Face
Use hot glue to attach the paper face pieces to the fabric of the ghost.
6. Add Finishing Touches
Trim the bottom of the ghost fabric to give it a more rounded, polished look, mimicking Disney’s Mickey Ghost.
Hang and Enjoy! Now, your Mickey Mouse Hanging Ghost is ready to hang indoors or outdoors for a spooky, magical touch.
