Giant Easter Basket with Fun Easter Egg Hunt Ideas!
For years, I’ve wanted to make a Giant Easter Basket out of a kid’s swimming pool and when I was asked to try the new Hatchimals CollEGGtibles, I thought they would be the perfect goodies to put inside of my giant Easter basket!
With Easter right around the corner, Hatchimals CollEGGtibles are the cutest things ever! What are they? Well, my daughter is obsessed with these adorable collectible magical creatures that come inside small, speckled eggs. Not only do they make for the perfect Easter Egg Hunt, but are a fantastic alternative to candy and the usual Easter basket trinkets.
Cute Easter Basket Gifts
Your kids will love to care, nurture, and play with these cute tiny Hatchimals! They come in all kinds of packages, I especially love the cute egg cartons!
These tiny friends need love to hatch! Hold the egg in the palm of your hand, rub the heart and as it changes from purple to pink. That’s how you know it’s ready to hatch! Press down until egg cracks. Create a nest for your Hatchimals by peeling down the egg shell until you reach the wavy line.
Look at all of the fun things I got to put inside of my Giant Easter basket! There is even the most adorable play set in the shape of a large egg for your tiny creatures.

How to Make a Giant Easter Basket
This Giant Easter Basket couldn’t be easier! What a fun way to surprise your kids this year.
Get a plastic kiddie pool (less than $10) and a hula hoop. I held the hula hoop in place with a bag of rice as the weight. Then I filled the pool with pillows and a blanket.
Because my daughter has so many stuffed animals, I just took a bunch of Easter looking toys from her room and began to fill the pool. You could certainly buy new stuffed animals, but it’s just as fun for kids to find their toys having fun in the giant basket Easter morning! The main new gifts were the Hatchimals! I had so much fun making a giant Easter basket and know your kids would absolutely LOVE this.
Creative No Candy Easter Egg Hunt Idea
As much as my kids love candy, they love toys even more! After filling up our Easter baskets we enjoyed an outdoor Easter Egg Hunt with our Hatchimals.
Even my 15 year old son loved hatching the Hatchimals ColleGGtibles. So if you are looking for an alternative to plastic eggs filled with candy, add some Hatchimals in the mix as bonus prizes to be found. Kids will go bananas trying to find them!
Now that you know what Hatchimals CollEGGtibles are, you’ll want to collect all 100+ of them! At least I know my daughter does. The aftermath of our hunt is pretty darn cute!
Be sure to check out the cute Hatchimals CollEGGtibles this Easter. They make adorable Easter baskets and fun Easter egg hunts for sure!
