Summer means sleeping in, vacations, swimming and making fun family memories! Since I’m remodeling my kitchen(I literally have no kitchen right now),we’ve been eating out a lot.
Because summer gives us time to slow down from our normal busy schedules, it’s one of my favorite times to cook. Well, since I have no kitchen right now, we’ve been visiting one of our favorite restaurants that makes us feel like home… . When they asked me to come into their restaurant for a family meal as a part of this sponsored post, I was all for it!!
I usually order something from their breakfast menu, because admit it, they have the best biscuits ever! But since we’ve been doing dinners out more than usual, I thought I would venture from my usual breakfast and try one of their new Campfire Meals.
Cracker Barrel’s Campfire Meals come with delicious ingredients wrapped-up together and sealed tight in foil so the savory tastes mix together. I didn’t realize the meal would actually come to the table wrapped in foil. It’s truly like a summer camp experience at your table! How fun is this?
And there is a bonus; it came with their amazing buttermilk biscuits and corn muffins!
The chicken was so tender and juicy that it literally fell off the bone. I loved the vegetables that came with it as well… sweet corn on the cob, fresh carrots, red skin potatoes, onions and tomato wedges. It felt like eating a southern meal from my childhood. The special kind that mom only made for holidays.
Of course we had to do some shopping after we ate. I can never get out of there without buying something fun!
I always love it when someone asks me where I got my shirt and I say Cracker Barrel. LOL!!! It makes for great conversation. Seriously, they have the cutest tops! 🙂
Because we felt like camping after eating the Campfire Meal, it got me thinking that just because we don’t have a kitchen, doesn’t mean we can’t hang outside making summer s’mores!

Rolo S’mores
We don’t make the usual s’mores, but Rolo S’mores. Have you ever tried them? They are so good!!!
Just replace the usual chocolate bar with Rolo candy and you get an explosion of caramel along with the chocolate and marshmallows. Simply delicious.
