Notes

Honey Avocado Face Mask Storage Tips
Because fresh avocado is highly perishable and prone to oxidation (turning brown), your mask has a much shorter shelf life than the honey or coconut oil alone.
Here is how to keep it fresh and effective:
1. The “Press-to-Surface” Method
The biggest challenge with avocado is oxidation. To prevent it from turning brown:
- Place the mask in a small glass jar or bowl.
- Take a piece of plastic wrap and press it directly onto the surface of the mixture, ensuring there are no air bubbles.
- Seal the container with an airtight lid on top of the plastic wrap.
2. Refrigeration is Non-Negotiable
Since this contains fresh produce without preservatives, it must be kept in the fridge.
- Shelf Life: It will stay fresh for 2 to 3 days max.
- Note on Texture: The coconut oil will solidify in the fridge. Before your next use, let the container sit at room temperature for 10–15 minutes or stir it vigorously to soften it back up.
3. Ice Cube Hack
If you made a large batch and can’t finish it in three days, freeze it:
- Spoon the mixture into a clean ice cube tray.
- Once frozen, transfer the cubes to a freezer bag.
- To use: Thaw one cube in a small dish about 30 minutes before your skincare routine.
Quick Tip: Always use a clean spoon or spatula to scoop the mask out of the jar. Introducing bacteria from your fingers will cause the avocado to spoil much faster.
