After School Station with Free Printable Weekly Calendars

After School Station with Free Printable Weekly Calendars by LivingLocurto.com

It’s time to think about back to school, and this year I vow to keep up with the papers and kid’s school activities!

It’s always a struggle for me to keep up with it all, so this year I’m going to make it easy for my kids to help me out!

With the help of the Post-It Study collection and a few items that I already had in my home, I was able to turn what was once an area where I hung my purses, to an organized After School Station for the kids!

I love all of the new items from the Post-it Study collection! They have fun new sizes, Post-it Study Attach and Go Pockets, Post-it Study Writable Flags, Post-It Study Notes and more that work great for back to school! I decided to use them for my After School Station and on a Weekly Calendar that the kids can update themselves when I forget!

I designed a fun weekly calendar for each child and placed them in a frame. Then used clear plastic cups to hold dry erase markers and Post-It Study products to update the calendars each week with the latest activities.

You can write on the glass and easily erase to start over each week. The Post-It Writable Flags are perfect for reminding everyone of what is the most important!

Plus, it’s fun for the kids to do as my daughter LOVES to stick anything!

Along with the new weekly calendar, I made each kid an in and out basket.

Now when they get home from school, they are to hang up their backpacks, take out papers I need to see, and put into the “in” box. I will then look at them and put what needs to go back into their folders for school in the “out” box. It’s the kid’s responsibility to pack up their backpacks.

If I forget to check out their in box, they can grab a Post-It Full Adhesive Note and write me a reminder!

Note: I used hanging containers that I found at Ikea a few years ago. If you can’t find them, a wall magazine rack would work great for papers. I stuck the frame and cups to the wall with these damage-free Picture Hanging Strips.

Enjoy my new weekly calendars. These are perfect for printing and placing into a 3 ring binder as well as frames! You can do a frame for each child or put 2 into one big frame like I did. I can’t wait to see how you use these printables.

  1. I was really looking forward to giving these a try for this school year but then I noticed that you didn’t include Saturday and Sunday. I don’t know about others but our activities sure don’t end on Friday night. Nice design, though.

    • Sorry, we only have school here on week days. This is a calendar for my kid’s school activities so I can keep up with school events. I didn’t realize other schools did things on weekends.

  12. Angela Bergmann says:

what if your house is too small? I have 5 kids in a less than 1000 square foot house and no room to hang anything. I have tried a basket system for organizing each of their stuff but now with 5 kids in school, the shelf is too small…

  13. LOVE these ideas Amy. The frame with the calendar is awesome. Love Post-it products- so many awesome uses. Thanks!

  14. Great idea Linda!

  15. If you could not find the hanging containers, maybe they could be made out of some cpntainers you have around the house, i.e. milk or juice container, etc.

  7. […] I am loving all of the designs in this months printable Blog Hop! Our theme for the month is back to school and we all came up with printables that we hoped would help, inspire, and make this time of year run a little smoother! My oldest started back today and it made me realize that our summer of freedom is over and the schedules are back. While I am looking forward to having the family calendar back on track, I admit it was really nice to just roll with the punches for a few months! After I finished mourning the loss of summer for a couple of hours, I found myself increasingly excited to watch the kids grow this year…to make new friends and learn new things! Like it or not, it’s school time again!! The printable I designed for the blog hop can be found HERE. It’s a Morning Routine that you can frame, then write on the glass with a dry erase marker to use it over and over!
