Who can resist a caramel apple AND ice cream? I no that I can’t, which is why I blended some of my favorite fall flavors together with spiced rum for a fantastic drink recipe!

You know that I’m all about cute garnishes for drinks like this football lime. With this easy rum cocktail recipe, skip the cherry and turn a caramel candy into a cherry. Serve these for your next gathering with friends, a tailgate or fall party! This recipe makes 4 drinks, so you’ll definitely want to share with a friend.

I added melted caramel around the edge of my glass with nuts and apples, but you can totally skip all of the garnish and get right to the drink.

Spiced Rum Caramel Apple Milkshake

This Spiced Rum Caramel Apple Milkshake will hit the spot! A boozy shake recipe with all of your favorite fall flavors is a delicious dessert cocktail.

Ingredients

  • 10 caramel candies
  • 4 cups vanilla ice cream
  • ½ cup apple cider
  • ½ cup spiced rum ( or bourbon)
  • ½ cup caramel sauce
  • tsp. cinnamon
  • ¼ cup chopped nuts
  • ¾ cup granny smith apples diced
  • 2 cups whipped cream

Instructions

  • In a glass bowl heat caramel candies in microwave for 10 second intervals until soft and creamy. Save a few candies to roll into a ball for a “cherry on top” garnish.
  • Dip the rim of your glasses into the melted caramel. Roll the glass rim covered in caramel in chopped nuts and diced apples. Place glasses in refrigerator to cool the caramel.
  • Make the Shake: In a blender add vanilla ice cream, apple cider, spiced rum (or bourbon), caramel sauce and cinnamon. Add more ice cream or cider to get your favorite consistency. Blend until creamy and pour in glasses.
  • Garnish your shake with whipped cream, a caramel candy “cherry”, sprinkle with cinnamon and serve!
