Round Top Texas – Everything You Need To Know

I’ve lived in Dallas for over 25 years, but never been to Round Top, Texas! I was so excited to get invited to attend a mastermind retreat with some fabulous business women!  Most of us were in the home decor, crafts and party niches. Then there was me with my food blog.

Hosted by the talented Kim from Salvaged Living, this trip really blew my mind. I don’t know if it was getting to know and learn from other successful entrepreneurs (my love language), or the charming small Texas town? Getting to shop, eat and speak with women who own their own businesses definitely filled my cup with joy!

NEW Cooking Classes

After getting back home to Dallas and letting the inspiration soak in, I’ve decided to start hosting free cooking classes on my Facebook page so we can get to know each other on a more personal level. Click here to get invited to my classes and I’ll send you a free gift as a thank you for supporting me on this new adventure. YAY! I can’t wait to get to know you better, I hope you’ll join me!

Thanks to these wonderful women for the AMAZING inspiration! I feel so blessed to have had this time with each and every one of them.

We had a blast in Round Top! I hope you enjoy these tips for where to go when you travel to Round Top, Texas.

Where is Round Top Texas?

Round Top is a small town that’s a little over 1 hour from Austin, 1.5 hours from Houston and 2 hours from Waco. Only about 91 people live in Round Top year round.

What are the dates for the Round Top Antique Fair?

The 2019 fall antiques fair will run from now until to Sunday, October 6. There will be hundreds of venues with antiques, vintage art, fashion and other unique treasures! Many shops are open year round, but most venders come during this time.

Where Should you Stay in Round Top?

Round Top Texas travel tips - Bed and Breakfast

I highly recommend staying at the Heritage Sunday House in Burton, Texas. It’s about a 10-15 minute drive to Round Top and is one of the most charming modern farmhouse homes I’ve ever seen! With beautiful clawfoot tubs and a gorgeous pet peacock roaming the grounds, you’ll feel like you’ve gone back in time to another place.

Where To Eat in Round Top

We had the most incredible dinner at Bader Ranch. If you want a once in a lifetime experience, make reservations now at the Liberty Kitchen – Bader Brasserie. It’s a pop-up restaurant only open twice a year during the antique market days. Enjoy coastal inspired French fare served by Chef Lance Fegen. I promise, you’ll be in pure heaven!

Also eating at Royers Round Top Cafe is a must do! We got to meet Tara Royer and learned all about her pie shop Royers Pie Haven. Let me just tell you how AMAZING Tara’s pies are…. imagine heaven in your mouth. There ya go! Her pie shop is adorable too – it’s definitely a place you need to visit.

I took a whole Texas Trash pie home with me and have been eating it ever since. Best of all, if you can’t make it to Round Top, you can have the pie shipped directly to your home. YAY!

Where to Shop in Round Top

Shopping in Round Top can be overwhelming, so you need a starting place for sure! We started at The Bull Market and I could have stayed there for hours! It’s where I found these incredible cutting boards for less than $30 each. They’ll be perfect for my farmhouse kitchen!

We had fun stopping at a few open air flea markets and the beautiful french antiques at Bader Ranch.
