Michaels Stores Event

Michael’s is my favorite craft store, so I was very excited when they asked me to be a guest at their GoldRewards member event last night!

I had the pleasure of hanging out with one of my favorite people, Jo Pearson, creative expert and overall fun girl at Michaels. The event was live streamed, so I was a little nervous. Jo is such a natural on camera, she makes you feel totally comfortable, so I didn’t say anything too silly… at least I don’t think so! Watch Jo on some really fun crafting webisodes for Michaels. I always love their amazing creative ideas.

Michael Duncan, Creative Director, and Paula Puelo, Chief Marketing Officer, also joined us. They are both so much fun and super creative as well.

Gold members were asked to bring in a decorated dollar frame. Michael and Jo gave out prizes to the most creative. There were some fantastic frames! Many that got my wheels to spinning for fun ideas to feature here. Michaels will feature the winning frames on their Facebook page. How cool is that for those lucky members?

I got a kick out of Michael and his frame. That is a mold of his face! There are so many neat things you can do with their $1 frames. I love that they are square and nice and thick wood. I’ve been inspired now to do some creative projects with them. So check back for them next month!

A BIG thanks to Michaels for having me as their guest!!! I’ll be shopping there very soon for my daughter’s 5th birthday party celebration. I can’t wait to show you we end up doing.

Want an inside look at Michaels? Check out my trip there with 10 other creative bloggers.

What would you do with a dollar frame?

I’d love to hear or see a link to your ideas in the comment section. Maybe I will feature them!

If you end up crafting something with a Michael’s $1 frame, please email me a photo.

** I’ll be announcing The Help Giveaway Winner this week on Facebook. Come visit to see if you won.

Share the fun!

  2. WOW!! What an amazing opportunity! Congratulations, Amy! I would have loved to be just a fly on the wall. Michael’s is much closer to me than other craft stores so I’m in there VERY often. Their Reflections line never ceases to amaze me. I posted something I did with one of the dollar frames. I actually bought a couple of them during the 4th of July holidays for only $.75!

  3. I just used 20 of those frames! I bought them as a craft for my daughter’s 6th birthday party. We were at the beach, so we also bought some mini sea shells and tacky glue. The kids had a great time gluing shells on the frames. Easy, fun, and super cute!

  4. Oh Happy day- I seem to go to Michaels at least a couple times each month. =)
