One of my weekend projects was to clean my front porch. Well, I went a little nuts. One minute I was sweeping my  steps, then the next I was re-arranging furniture in my dining and living room! I think the new season of Top Design got me inspired to simplify my rooms. So I thought I would give you a house tour to show my semi-new digs. Plus, it’s always fun to see someone else’s house right?

I’ll show off my front porch today, because I did spend a lot of time cleaning it up and getting ready for Fall. What flowers I did have outside were all dead. It was so ugly and dusty!! I don’t know why I didn’t take a before picture? I never think ahead for this bloggy stuff.

Instead of a wreath, I decided on this for the door. I found some great plants on sale! I love that! This needs to be a little bigger. So I’m still on the hunt for some good vines. But for now, it will have to do.

Look at this shinny door! For the second time in 8 years, I washed the door AND the windows.

  2. I love love love your entry with the flowers on the door and along the side. Are you able to keep fresh flowers year around where you live?

    Blessings,

  3. Autumn is my favorite time of the year. Your front porch pics are spectacular. I think some colorful mums would add a nice touch, too. They are my most favorite autumn plant. Will you be adding a scarecrow and/or pumpkins? They are always a nice touch, too.

I enjoyed looking at your blog. I just started one of my own and I got some good ideas from yours.

    Have a blessed day,

I am NOT a good organizer. I am good at finding ways to hide the mess though! ha! I found some great bins that stack at The Container Store. Ikea is another great place for inexpensive fun storage.

I have 2 big bags of toys in my attic that I took out of the playroom. You’re right, they haven’t missed them at all! My plan is to wrap some up for Christmas and let them open one or two a week during the whole month of December. When things are wrapped, they always seem new again right? Then by Christmas day, maybe I can just get them one nice thing and stocking stuffers. I’m trying to simplify.

  5. It looks awesome!! I’m jealous. All of those beautiful plants on your front door would be dead at my house 🙂

BTW since you are queen organizer and oh so creative, I need some help organizing the kid’s toy room. It’s over-flowing into the whole house and they’re making me crazy. I’m thinking about sending the kids to grandma’s so that I can ditch most of them. There are so many, they’ll never miss them, right? Any other ideas?

    Luv ya! ~W

  6. Beautiful! I wish I had a front porch…or a deck that didn’t have nails sticking up all over would do. But that’s the Association’s project, so I…you know what? Darn them! I’m going to get my hammer and pound them down right now!

  7. It looks great! You’ve inspired me. I need to do something with my front porch for fall to spruce it up a bit. Can’t wait to see the rest of your tour. I love your style! -Julia
