I’m super excited to share this fun way of giving money! Cash is an easy gift when you are short on time.
I wanted to make a surprise gift for my son’s birthday, but with only 45 minutes to spare until he got home from school, my options were limited.
I meant to plan ahead, but with the holidays, family being sick and working… the birthday gift surprise was last on my list.
He turned 12 yesterday and has been wanting cash to save up for an XBox One. Putting some money in an envelope would make him happy, but not be a very exciting birthday surprise for a kid! Here is a fun thing that I did in less than 40 minutes with one trip to the grocery store.
My son LOVED it!!!!
Yep, that is 12 balloons and each one has a one dollar bill attached! I was proud that I was able to pull it off in time.
We had a bike hidden away, so along with cleaning the room, I even had time to get the new bike into his room. Whew!! He walked in 2 minutes later from the bus!
It was a huge hit! He even noticed that I had cleaned his room and said THANK YOU just for doing that. Love that kid!!
And guess who else loved the dangling ribbon and dollar bills? Yes, our new kitty Apollo was in heaven. ha!
I hope you have fun using this idea for your birthday kid too! It would be a fun way to give money for a graduation or any special occasion.
Love this idea! My daughter will be 17 in a few weeks, so I think these $ balloons are just the right style/color/size! Thanks again for all of your wonderful thoughts and recipes and ideas!
Way too cute! I am glad you gave him a little money for his goal and then the bike…The kitty was too cute and your son looks as if he hit the lottery for his birthday!!
