Cardboard Tree House

When I was 6 years old, my dad built me a tree house. It had an upstairs and even a fireman’s pole to slide down! I have many fond memories of playing in my super cool tree house. I’ve always wanted to build one for my kids.

We have a great backyard with several big trees, so for the past few weeks I’ve been researching tree houses and made some sketches. Not that it would ever actually go into a tree. A girl can dream right? I did this project while their dad was giving the kids a bath one evening. (so it really only took about 15 minutes to make!)

Now the kids have their very own tree house!

What I didn’t know, is while we are away at my mom’s in Oklahoma, my husband is really having this built!!! {squeal!} He says it’s going to be much better and I have to keep it a secret from the kids. Wow! I feel like a giddy kid now! So the next photos you see will be of my daughter just like this…

I can’t wait to see my kid’s surprised faces when they go into our backyard!! So if you see my kids anytime soon, no telling them. Shhhhhh! It’s a surprise!

Did you have a tree house when you were a kid?

I entered this into TidyMom’s I’m Loving It Blog Party.
