Last week, I was invited to a blogger event to learn about the new UNCLE BEN’S® Whole Grain White Rice with Missy Lapine, The Sneaky Chef! I was so excited because I LOVE her cook books and of course I brought mine for her to sign:-)

Missy is the celebrity spokeswomen for UNCLE BEN’S® Whole Grain White Rice. You’ll probably see her on many morning shows promoting recipes for this new healthy rice. She had just left Good Morning Texas to come cook with us!

The event was held at the amazing Milestone Culinary Arts Center and Missy taught us some yummy rice recipes to share with our family. It was so much fun doing the three things I LOVE… being around other bloggers, taking photos and cooking. Add meeting Missy to that list and it was a perfect day!

Of course we’re nerdy bloggers and had our giant cameras around our necks while cooking… which was pretty funny!

You might recognize a few of my partners in cooking crime above. Tip Junkie, Screwed Up Texan, Texas Holly and Mommy’s Wish List who brought the wine!

I can’t wait to share some of my favorite recipes from the day. Be sure check out the new rice when you go shopping because I’ll be writing about some ways to cook with it next week! It tastes just like white rice to me and Missy’s recipes were really great. Did you know you can make pizza crust with rice?? Who knew?

New UNCLE BEN’S® Whole Grain White Rice is the first and only whole grain rice that looks and tastes like white rice. The new product provides moms with a secret weapon to incorporate whole grains at dinner.

  1. Quite an invention, now we can’t have white rice with all the nutrients from whole grain. Well I’m hoping you can post up instructions on how to make pizze crust from rice, that would sure be interesting!

  2. Can’t believe I’m just now getting to this! It was fun cooking and playing chef for the day!
