Getting ready to move into The Hive at SCAD? We’ve got you covered with all the essential details on dorm dimensions, furniture measurements and a comprehensive, stress-free college packing list.
The Hive, a modern residential complex designed for first-year students at SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design), offers suite-style living with various amenities.
To make your move-in as smooth as possible, we’ve gathered all the information on the dorm room measurements, amenities and created a free printable packing list.
This list will help you efficiently pack everything you need, from room essentials to personal items, ensuring a comfortable and organized transition into your new home at SCAD.
SCAD Hive Information and Dorm Dimensions
The Hive at SCAD consists of eight four-story buildings:
- Apiary
- Bumble
- Colony
- Dance
- Everest
- Flower
- Garden
- Honey
Each building features suite-style living with four students sharing two double-occupancy rooms, a living room, and a bathroom with separate facilities. Amenities include air conditioning, wireless internet, a dining hall, a coffee shop, a pool, fitness center, and an Amazon Locker location.
What are the HIVE Suite Features?
Each suite features two double-occupancy rooms with private bathrooms, a small kitchenette with cabinets and sink, a living room with couch, end tables, coffee table, and entertainment stand.
Each bedroom comes with:
- XL twin-size bed
- Bed Night Stand
- Desk and Chair
- Wardrobe with Drawers and Mirror
- Sheer Roller Window Blinds (Window size will vary based on room location.)

Amazon Delivery + College Dorm Essentials
Did you know you can ship items from Amazon directly to SCAD before the move-in date?
Each student gets assigned a personal mailbox number (PMB) to receive mail and packages. Students can find their PMB in MySCAD shortly before their arrival to SCAD. Amazon Lockers are also available to receive eligible Amazon packages only in Savannah and Atlanta.

Hi. Check out my list of college essentials, there is a rolling cart here that will fit under the desk. https://amzn.to/45mFim0 Oh and we used adhesive curtain rod holders which is also on that list. We had to add tacks into the rod holders and wall to hold them in place because her curtains were heavy. Best of luck to your bee!

1) Where did you find a rolling bin that fit under your daughter’s desk?
2) How did you hang the curtain rod, without damaging the wall?
Might you share the rolling cart that fits under the desk? I’m having a hard time finding one for my bee.
