Tie Dye Halloween Cupcakes

Make these Easy Tie Dye Halloween Cupcakes with orange and black swirls topped with creamy orange buttercream for the most spooktacular treats!

Ingredients

  • Vanilla Cake Mix Box
  • ½ c. vegetable oil
  • 3 Eggs
  • Black food coloring gel
  • Orange food coloring gel
  • 6 c. powdered sugar
  • c. butter softened
  • 2 ½ tsp. vanilla
  • 2-3 Tbs. milk

Instructions

  • Mix your cake mix as per directions and divide your cake batter into two bowls.
  • Mix 10-20 drops of black food coloring into one bowl of batter. Mix 8-10 drops of orange food coloring into the other bowl. Add more drops to get desired color.
  • Add each color of cake mix into a large ziplock bag. Trim the ends and add Halloween cupcake liners to a muffin baking pan.
  • Pipe orange cake mix into the bottom of the liners.
  • Pipe black batter into the middle of the orange cake batter and repeat until cups are a little over half full.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 12-17 minutes. Once done, let cool.
  • Make orange frosting by mixing powdered sugar, butter, vanilla and milk into bowl. Mix until smooth and fluffy.
  • Add 2-3 drops of orange food coloring and mix. Add extra milk to get desired thickness. Frost the cupcakes.
  • Top with black cat lollipops or other Halloween cupcake picks of your choice.
