How to make Curious George Balloon Cupcakes
Try making these cute cupcakes for school parties or a birthday party. Anyone who loves Curious George will be wowed by this idea! Shhh… nobody has to know that they are some of the most simple treats you can ever make.
- 6-12 Cupcakes
- White Frosting
- Round Frosting Tip
- Red, Blue and Yellow Sugar Sprinkles (I used these Sprinkles)
- String or Twine
- Sky Blue Poster Board
- Curious George Free Printable (Scroll down to download)
- Optional: Bee or Butterfly Stickers (Here is a pack with some bees)
After baking or buying cupcakes, distribute the sugar sprinkles into shallow bowls.
Tip: if you don’t have time to bake cupcakes, buy ready made cupcakes and scrape off the icing!
Use a flat knife to frost your cupcake to look like a balloon. The balloon shape doesn’t have to be perfect, because you will then dip your cupcake into the sugar sprinkles.
Gently patting the cupcake around in the sprinkles will cover any flaws you made with the frosting.
After covering all cupcakes with sugar sprinkles, add a dollop of frosting to the top left side of the balloon to look like the highlight from the actual Curious George illustration.
Place your cupcakes into the refrigerator until ready to display for the party.
Displaying your Curious George Balloon Cupcakes is what makes this party idea so adorable!
Print and cut the Curious George Printable. I cut some clouds out of the left-over paper. Just draw them with a pencil and cut. If you can find some bee or butterfly puffy stickers, that looks really cute on the table as well.
On your party table, add the blue poster board, Curious George cut-out and start placing cupcakes where you think they go based on the illustration.
Cut the twine and place in the appropriate spots as balloon strings. Add stickers if you want and you’ve got a super cute Curious George Cupcake display for any type of party!
