Back to School Party on Living Locurto

It’s Back to School Party time as I host a week of new craft ideas by some of my favorite DIY bloggers.

Today’s Back to School Free Printable idea by Heidi from Parties for Pennies is just what I need! Help you and your kids get to know their teacher better with these “get to know you” interview cards. Give them to your teacher on the first day, or anytime during the first few weeks of school. There is even a card for the kids to fill out so the teacher can get to know them! I love this fun project and I hope you enjoy it too!

Hello! I’m Heidi here with a fun project to help your kids prepare for the first day of school. Even if school has already begun, this project is a great “get-to-know-you” exercise for those first few weeks!

I designed free printable interview cards, so when school arrives, your child can hand these over to their teacher with fun facts about themselves, and give their teacher one to fill out too.

This not only helps your kids get to know the teacher, but also helps parents with gift ideas by learning the teacher’s favorite things!

Inside this card is a section with blank spaces for your child. They fill in their favorite candy and favorite color, etc. Another card says, “About You” and it’s for the teacher to fill out.

My friend’s children, Anderson & Elle, really enjoyed this back to school project!

Since Anderson is only two years old, instead of writing his answers, we looked through magazines and found pictures that matched his favorite things.

This is a big year for Elle. She’s going to be a kindergartener! It’s her first time in “big school.” That can be intimidating and a little scary. While Elle was filling out her card, her mom was able to assure her that her teacher wants to get to know her and be her friend.

By making this card, it already establishes a connection and, hopefully, the start of a great relationship.

I made my own little envelope for the cards by cutting out a manila folder (6”x7.5”), and using a glue stick (or double-sided tape) to glue .5” on the edges of 3 sides.

The cards easily slid right in. You can include the teachers name using a label maker on the folders tab or with a ribbon tied around the folder (attach the tag to the ribbon, maybe even add a gift card).

All you have to do is print these onto white cardstock & cut along the edges.

* My parents, who are both elementary school teachers, have approved this project.

Thanks so much to Amy, for letting me hang out with you today! It’s always fun to meet new friends!
