I’ve been away from my computer for a while because my husband has been having knee surgery to repair his torn ACL and meniscus. Since I didn’t know what either of those were, I found this photo. Apparently his ACL was ripped totally apart. Yikes!

We got home on Friday and now his leg is attached to a machine to bend his knee. He has to have it on for 2 hours, then off for 2 hours, 8 hours a day for 14 days! Not fun because he’s in so much pain! So I hope to have time to get some bloggy things done eventually. I have lots of neat Christmas ideas, I just need to find the time to sit down and make them. Can anyone add more time to my day please? Wouldn’t that be nice?!

I was surprised when I got home from the hospital to find I Heart Faces had been featured on Blurb’s blog!

If you didn’t know, I just made a cool Blurb book for I Heart Faces. If you are needing a fun gift for the holidays, make a book! They are so easy to make and really nice. Plus, what grandma wouldn’t want a book of her grand babies?

I hope you have a nice weekend! I’ll be taking care of the hubs, messing with this giant knee moving machine and probably cleaning to get ready for my mom who is visiting for Thanksgiving. What are your plans? Are you traveling for Thanksgiving?

  2. I had that done 6 years ago. Definately get a Polar Ice Machine. I got a new ACL and I had a ‘rigid meniscus’…sounds funny! It’s amazing how they can make it all work again and then make you move your knew the very next day. It’s all mind over matter. If he ices it constantly the pain should subside. Best of luck!

  3. Hope he feels better and recovers quickly. My dad was on a machine like that when he had hip surgery and I remember him being in a ton of pain. Hang in there!

  4. I’m a blog stalker, and a first time commenter. Hello!

My daughter had that very same surgery this summer. She found the big ‘bendy’ machine so dang comfortable that at the beginning she slept with it on. Her surgeon told her she could not over use the machine, using the parameters he gave her regarding range of motion.

Also, if you have the chance to buy a Polar Ice machine… GO FOR IT! That is the single best purchase we have made in regards to her healing!! Our daughter is an athlete and she uses that machine after workouts, etc. LOVE IT!!

    Good luck!

As for more time in the day… I just told my husband earlier today that I really wish that there was one more day in the week… I really could benefit from the extra time too!!

  5. Had a friend go through that very surgery a month or so ago; he had the same giant machine. And he is ALL better now.. that machine is a miracle worker. Take it easy, make big pots of soup, and believe that God is making sure that you take a well-deserved break!
