Sweet & Spicy Cranberry Sauce
Easy homemade cranberry sauce with fresh cranberries, orange zest, cinnamon, and optional jalapeño for a sweet and spicy holiday favorite.

Ingredients

cups
cranberries
fresh or frozen
Zest of 2 oranges
Juice of 1 orange
1
jalapeño
seeds removed and finely diced (optional)
½
cup
sugar
¼
cup
brown sugar
½
teaspoon
cinnamon
Water
as needed
Instructions
Add cranberries, orange zest, orange juice, sugar, cinnamon, and jalapeño (if using) to a medium saucepan.
Add enough water to just barely cover the cranberries.
Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce heat to a simmer.
Cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
Remove from heat and let cool completely. The sauce will thicken more as it cools.
Notes
Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer.
