Mercury Glass Centerpiece Craft
How to Make a Mercury Glass Centerpiece with Coke bottles. Easy DIY home decor repurposed craft idea for the holidays or any time of the year.
Yield: 6 bottles
Equipment
- Rubber gloves
- Newspaper or tarp
- White flowers or Silver and White Sparkly Silk Flowers and Feathers
- New Year's Eve Printables (Download in Article)
Instructions
- Clean out your Coke bottles, dry them and place on top of newspaper or tarp.
- Spray the Coke bottles with Looking Glass spray paint from a distance. It takes several coats to cover the red Coke label.
- Let each coat completely dry before adding a new coat of paint.
- After all coats are completed, let dry for 4-24 hours.
- After your bottles have dried, fill them with flowers or decor of your choice.
- Add bottles to a charger or cake stand.
- Rearrange the flowers inside of your centerpiece to look pleasing, then add your extra decorations or printables.
Notes
You will need 1 bottle of spray paint per 6 bottles.
To move the bottles without messing up the paint, just stick your finger in the opening to carry them around. You can't mess this up! Mercury glass looks good when it's splotchy and uneven.
