This week our photo challenge at I Heart Faces is Red in support of .

This is my daughter painting her Daddy’s fingernails for Valentine’s Day. She is my heart and makes me want to take better care of myself. My dad dealt with heart disease at an early age, so I’m more at risk than the average woman. I’m happy to be working with this week to bring awareness to their cause.

Cardiovascular disease claimed the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year, yet women were not paying attention. In fact, many even dismissed it as an “older man’s disease.” To dispel the myths and raise awareness of heart disease as the number one killer of women, the American Heart Association created – a passionate, emotional, social initiative designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health.

We would  love for you to enter a Red photo to help spread the word. Enter on Monday & Tuesday.
