I’m excited to show you a cute and simple Monsters University Birthday Party that I threw for my daughter’s birthday this summer. You’ll scream with joy, because this party comes with free party printables and a fun giveaway!
Having your 7th birthday in the summer while traveling to visit family, calls for several celebrations. We had a fun family party at my mom’s house in Oklahoma, then headed to my dad’s side of the family in Missouri for a family wedding. In-between wedding craziness, I whipped up a monster of a party for Siena’s actual birthday date.
In my opinion, you can never have too many parties or too much cake!
Because , they sent me a party care package to celebrate my daughter’s birthday in true Monster style!
Every time you buy Juicy Juice, you’ll win prizes for your kids! Fun things like a character call where one of your kids’ favorite Monsters University characters will call your home with a personalized message, books, DVD, movie tickets and more. Ten first prize winners will receive a $5,000 scholarship!
We usually have very girly party themes, but since this party was for a small family party with half boys and half girls, a Monsters University theme was ideal. Everyone loves Mike, Sulley and the Monsters University gang!
You will notice I added a lot of her favorite color, pink, to the decorations to make it just a little more girly:-)
I had a blast turning a green balloon into Mike Wazowski! All of the kids loved him. Learn how you can make a monster balloon centerpiece just like mine here.
Juicy Juice is a great beverage to serve to kids at a birthday party! The Monsters University characters on the packaging made for perfect table decor!

Decorating for a Monster Party is tons of fun. I used cute monster finger puppets for cupcake toppers and stuck goggly eyes on anything I could find!
I also designed some Free Party Printables and made them available for you at the bottom of this post! I designed a set for girls (as seen below) and one with boy colors.
How adorable did those cupcakes turn out? I added the finger puppets and edible eyeballs on top of the gum balls for a Monster flare. The cupcakes are from Hot Pink Oven Cupcakes available through Sinclair Florist & Gifts in Potosi, Missouri.
Monster Party Games
It’s not a party without some party games. This funny pin the bug in the Monster’s Mouth game was easy to pack on my trip and the kids had a lot of fun with it.
I love asking kids suggestions for party games. They usually have creative ideas that we as adults would not think about.
One of my adorable nephews suggested we have a contest to see who has the scariest monster roar. How fun was that idea?
The birthday girl was the judge. Thank goodness it stopped raining towards the end of the party, so we could take the game outside!
After a while, the roar contest turned into a scary monster face contest. From the looks of it, my son was winning first place!
Even the soon to be groom, Collin, took time before his big night to stop by for some monster fun with the little cousins!
13 years ago today (yes, it’s my wedding anniversary), my nephew Collin was the ring bearer at my wedding! Hard to believe we were there for his wedding this summer. Where does the time go?
For a fast and easy family birthday party, I thought it turned out to be a wonderful time! I’m pretty sure the kids did too!
