HP Envy x2 Laptop & Printer Review + Free Printable Card by LivingLocurto.com

I often get asked what type of printer I use for my printable designs. Well, I actually use a very old printer that you can’t buy anymore. So when HP contacted me to try out the new  and  I couldn’t have been more excited! Along with my review is a cute new Free Printable Card for a Teacher, so don’t miss it!

HP Envy x2

First of all, this was my very first non mac computer. Crazy I know! But, I was very surprised at the ease and cool factor. Yes, it’s very cool that you can remove the keyboard on the  and it becomes a tablet.

With the large screen, my kids are in love! We downloaded a few games and Skype so they could talk to Grandma. I didn’t realize it, but they walked around for about an hour doing things on Skype with my mom! I’m telling you… it’s really easy to use. I can’t wait to play with it more. I’m still learning!

The  is what surprised me with the print quality and cool factor. I’m pretty picky when it comes to printers and did not think I would like this one, but I did!

Cool factor… It is not only a touch screen similar to the tablet, but the paper drawer automatically opens and closes like a DVD tray. It is set up for double-sided printing and Wi-Fi. I love being able to print from anywhere in the house.

The printer is so easy to use as well. My daughter was able to watch the how-to video on the screen and figured out how to load the paper for me! I wish the tray would hold more paper, but if that is the only draw back, that’s not bad at all. It’s also nice that it scans and makes copies.

Print Quality

With the end of school upon us, I tested the print quality on my You’re Sweet Printable Tags for our teachers. You can see below the original print, then I made a copy of that print.

The difference in the print and the copy is hardly noticeable. The copy is lighter, but still looks good.

I was also very surprised that using regular copy paper printed so vibrant. I usually have to use matte photo paper to get that quality on my old printer. The color turned out the same with my nice photo paper. So photos also look fabulous!
