What to Blog About. Blogging Tips from Amy Locurto at LivingLocurto.com

Last week, I got WAAAAAAY out of my comfort zone and tried video. It was my video about being scared to do video. Ha! (Watch me shake here.)

I was shocked to find out many of you had the same fears as me!! Thanks for all of your comments and nice emails. As moms, business women or bloggers… we’re really all in this together right?

Because you were so encouraging, I did another video to answer one of the most asked question for me…. What do I blog about? How can I figure that out and get over my fear?

Believe it or not, I am still terrified when doing videos. I think doing more of them will help me get better though. I’m trying to not worry about things and put myself out there. Ack! I even did a craft video for next week. Shocker!

Okay, so here is a video of me rambling about blogging. I hope to get more in-depth on blogging later, but these simple tips will help you get a jump start on blogging! (There are two videos this time as I had an after thought to video #1…)

  1. Great tips. I have had my blog for a while and was doing really great and then I just got tired of trying to come up with content and took a break so now I feel like I am starting over. For the most part I keep up my blog for family and friends who are out of town and I don’t get to talk to or see very often so I know at least 5 people read my blog 😉

  2. This is such great advice. I’ll admit it gets tiring coming up with (brilliant) content for sometimes zero comments, but I try to remind myself that I’m writing first and foremost for myself. Views and comments are just the cherry on top. 🙂

  3. Amy, if you are nervous it doesn’t show. The more I vlog, the more I enjoy it. One thing that helped me was looking over the YouTube analytics to see which vids get the most plays and how long people generally watch them. It helps me with editing.

Keep up the great work! M

  4. Great advice! I’ve been blogging for a few years, but I have a couple from friends who just started blogging (one of them is in my MOPS group!) and they get frustrated by their stats. We have little “blogging meetings” at Starbucks every once in a while, and that helps us get re-energized!

  5. Love your videos. I think they add so much personality to your blog. I’ve been following your blog for a while for inspiration yet my favorite part now are the videos. I look forward to watching them and I especially love the insight on how you got started blogging. Anecdotal stories like that add so much interest-keep up the great video blogging!

  6. You are a sweet encourager. You should have started video a long time ago. Gracious. ;o)
