Ever wonder why your photo doesn’t appear next to your comments on some blogs? If you use Blogger and have an account, the photo shows up each time. But what about blogs powered by Wordpress and other companies? It’s probably because you haven’t set up your gravatar yet.
What is a gravatar you ask?
A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an avatar image that follows you from weblog to weblog appearing beside your name when you comment on gravatar enabled sites.
One easy way to set up your gravatar is to sign up for a free account at gravatar.com
This will take you less than a minute and then I’ll be able to see your gravatar in my comments section! Yeah!
Your photo will automatically appear on other people’s comments also. Here’s a sample from Hooked on Houses.

Thank you for the lesson! I wondered how to do this!
I just saw myself on Miz Booshay’s blog! It worked!! ๐

Bella- It’s working now! I need to fix it to where gravatars show up in my comments. Right now, I can see you all in my dashboard though! Cool!
I don’t see anything?
Cool, I’m testing it out now:)
Well, that’s one of the coolest things I’ve learned in awhile. You’re just a wealth of information! ๐ Thank you!

Hi Amy! Thanks for your sweet comment on my blog! Boy your page is fun~ lots to see! I’ll have to take some peeks! I saw on your ‘about me’ page that you’re from Missouri? We’re a military fam right across the river from StL! Such a neat state for us to visit! And, you’re collecting toys for Plano, TX? We have great family friends living in Plano! I haven’t been there in years, but boy what fun I had when I was there! Happy 1/2 way through the week day to you! Les
I have had mine for a couple months. Much better than the generic image. Thanks for posting this so hopefully more people will get one. I love smiling faces in my comments section.
Well, this is helpful! I hope lots of people will do this because I’d love to see their smiling faces on my blog. That’s one thing that’s frustrating about using Wordpress–so many more people are on Blogger that I don’t get their faces next to their comments.
Since I moved my blog to its self-hosted site, my avatar has disappeared. That link you gave us explains that I need a plug-in. D-oh. Didn’t know that. Thanks for the tip! ๐
