As you’re reading this, I’m either on my way or already in Nashville for the Blissdom Conference! Yeah!!

I’m excited to hear all the great speakers and figure out what I can do to make my blogs better. But the main thing I can’t wait to do is meet up with my girlfriends!

What is so strange to me, is that I’ve never even met any of these women!!! For the 6 months I’ve been blogging, I’ve made some great connections and feel like I’ve known some of them forever. I don’t think it’s the same way with men, I think they have to know their friends for a very long time before they ever really bond. There’s just something about girlfriends that you can’t explain. I don’t know about you, but I need to spend time with girlfriends. They keep me sane and make me feel youthful.

Me and my girlfriend Janet at a recent Maverick’s game.

Good girlfriends can go years without seeing one another and then get together and it’s like those years never happened.

My college friends Angie and Holly at OSU Homecoming.

We can cry on each other’s shoulders and encourage one another through difficult times. We can tease and make fun of our girlfriends, but if someone else does… watch out!! We’ll be right there to protect them.

My baby girl and her girlfriend (born just a few days apart & so much alike!)

Some we’ve been friends with since childhood while some are brand new. That’s what will be so neat about this weekend is meeting my brand new girlfriends face to face!

Have a wonderful weekend and I hope you get to spend time with a girlfriend or two soon.

  1. I’ve just come across your blog for the first time (noticed the lovely Owl Valentine on Tip Junkie) and your latest entry really touched me. It is so true. I’ve had a difficult 2008 and girlfriends old and new, some that I hadn’t seen for years have all been there for me. We’ve cried, but above all followed up on any opportunities whether it was parties or crafts. Cheers for all the girlfriends in the world!

  2. I hope you have an awesome time! Everything you said is so true…I have a great set of girlfriends and it is exactly like you said no matter how far away they are and no matter what amount of time passes the bond is still the same like the last day i saw them.
