I own a sewing machine, but rarely use it. Iron-on items have become a favorite of mine.

I found some fuzzy zebra iron transfer fabric at Hobby Lobby a while back. I had planned on just cutting a letter out by hand. But then this came in the mail…

The Silhouette digital cutting tool has made my life so much easier! I’m so excited it’s Mac compatible. I feel so crafty, yet I did nothing but type out a letter S and let the Silhouette do the cutting then use my iron. Now my daughter has a cute outfit with her favorite animal print!

I’ve got a Bedazzler some place… oh the crafting we will do!

  1. I love my Silhouette, though I’ve yet to use it for fabric, just b/c I am cheap and don’t want to dull my blade 🙂 I use the “other” company’s machine to cut fabric for appliques all the time.
Did you know you can use the Silhouette for cake decorating as well?
Yep…my mom figured it out. She’s got a website, DVD’s, teaches classes, etc.
Oh, and when you use the print and cut feature to decorate cakes…MAN THEY ROCK!

  2. Ahhhh that is sooooo adorable!! I can think of sooooo may projects that I can do with this. Talk about getting my Christmas presents done early wow that would be a lifesaver!!! One Day my dreams will be a reality. 🙂

  3. What an adorable shirt! One way or another I am getting this machine. I must have it! I have 10 month old twin girls and a 3 year old girl, and getting cute outfits to match will definitely break the bank!

  4. @Michelle,

The iron on fabric I got was pretty thick, so I had to double cut it on the Silhouette. The package said for use with cutting machines. I bet their own brand works perfectly for the machine. I have some and plan to test it out soon. They make the neat fuzzy kind as well.

  5. OK, before I forget.. I love the fact that your blog fills in my name, email and website! woot, thank you! And now…
Hello to the cuteness!!!!! Oh my goodness… that is so adorable! Love, love it…. the possibilities are endless. So many cute matching outfits… I love it!

  6. How did you use the Silhouette to cut fabric? I have one and love it, but didn’t realize you cut could anything besides their brand of iron on material!

  7. For years, I have been making number iron-on t-shirts as birthday gifts for my boys as well as for nieces, nephews and friends (cutting the fabric numbers out by hand). My favorite part is picking the perfect fabric and font that I know the child would love. 🙂 The Silhouette machine would make these projects so much more professional-looking and easier for me, too. What a neat giveaway!
