Have you thought about how you will capture the back to school memories? If you’re like me, you take lots and lots of photos!

Today on I Heart Faces, my partner Angie (mother of four) wrote a great article about inspiring ideas for back to school photos. I thought I would follow up with creative ideas on what to do with your photos.

Make a personalized frame to remember details.

I found some cheap wooden frames at Ikea and free downloadable back to school paper. Along with my free Star Wars Stickers, Mod Podge and paint, this turned into a really great keepsake for the year!

I will also add this tag from Trixie Scraps’s back to school kit to the back of the frame.

Here’s what you need:

  • Wood Frame
  • Paper
  • Mod Podge
  • Foam Brush
  • Exacto Knife
  • Paint

Paint the Mod Podge on the frame. Then lay the frame on the paper. Make sure to smooth the wrinkles out of the paper. Trim with the knife and add stickers, buttons or whatever your kids are into. Then put a little paint on the brush and tab around the edges to cover the remaining wood.

This took about 10 minutes to make and is a great project to do with your kids!

I found the mother load of back to school freebies when I went searching for printable paper!

The Blog Train Blog has 50 plus scrapbook artists who all made FREE Back to School Kits!

You could stay on this blog train for 3 days with all the submissions they had! WOW! One of my favorites was Random Inspirations by Monica. I used her green “back to school” paper for my son’s frame.

A school bus tissue frame is another cute idea.

I found this idea on freekidscrafts.com

Here’s what you need:

Print the template on heavy paper. Cut tissue paper into 2″squares. Crumple each piece into a tight ball. Dip into white glue and place onto pattern. Continue crumpling and gluing down pieces until the entire bus is filled. Paint or use markers to make the tires black.

Tape photos to the back of the school bus showing happy faces looking out of the windows.
