I just hosted another birthday party! This was a craft themed party for my daughter who turned 5 in August. I waited to have her party until the weather got cooler and during the school year so she could invite her new Kindergarten friends.
As of now, I’m really behind on editing photos, but have a few to show you. The party turned out cute considering I planned it very last minute! I especially liked the cake that I made. It’s not the most beautifully made cake, but the party printables and ric rac ribbon gave it a crafty homemade touch.
It would have been fun to have made some edible ric rac, but I’m not that talented! This is actual ribbon wrapped around the cake.
She requested pink, yellow and chocolate cake. I just put a little pink food coloring in the yellow cake and in the end, it turned out pretty tasty!
More party details coming soon!
Where can I get the printables? Love the cake and theme! Thanks for sharing.
I am sure the ric rack could be washed and reused after the party- great idea and so pretty!
I showed my daughter this cake as we are busy planning her party and she LOVES it. She now wants to have a craft party too 🙂 Please do update with what you did at the party! I am not a crafty person, but have a crafty daughter, and would love ideas on games etc to make it really special for her. Thank you 🙂
It’s fun to bake sometimes, even I do it on my spare time. Well, barely. 🙂 My baking skills might actually need some work so thanks for the inspiration.
Going to try some recipes out.
This is just adorable!! Love the ric rac and the colors are awesome!!!
Ooooo cute Amy! This idea of using actual real ric rac is a simple one that anyone can do…
The fact that it’s easier to do inspires me to try it out.
Awesome pictures.
All the best,
Eren

I loved it! It’s always fun to do something original. The frosting looked yum!
I like the fact that it isn’t ‘perfect’. That’s what makes it so pretty. The gift wrap bows on the stick are so adorable!
Love the ric rac, Amy! 🙂
