Kid Art Self Portrait Living Locurto

I’m co-founder of  I Heart Faces and this week our photo challenge is “Best Face of February” and YOU are the judge! That’s right, you can vote for your favorite 10 photos. The top 10 photos will be announced at the end of the week.

You’re not supposed to vote for me, so I thought this entry would be fun!

I love kid’s artwork and snapped this photo in the hallway of my son’s school. It’s his self-portrait. He didn’t tell me one of his drawings was chosen to hang in the main hallway. I happened to walk by and thought it looked like him. It was him. Boys are funny! If that was my daughter’s drawing, she would have proudly told me about it being displayed at school.

Enter your BEST Face photo on Monday. Vote for your favorites and tell your friends too.

  1. Your son’s self-portrait is adorable.

For some strange reason, though, this article reminds me of the time when I saw a mother scolding her son and telling him not to draw self-portraits, nor pictures of flowers, because she said those were for sissies. For me, every spark of creativity must be encouraged. It might be something that is against one’s values, but this could be corrected over time.

Give your kid a pat on the back for this one for me, will you? 🙂 Good job.

  2. Cute…aren’t boys funny that way. One of my sons entered a design he created for a tee- shirt for his senior class ( which was going to be used as the official senior tee shirt….I didn’t find out that about it until graduation….yep boys are interesting that way.

  3. Love it! My kids draw me pictures that I love to use at avatars in different forums, lol. Quite the little artist you have there!

  4. This comment doesn’t have anything to do with your current post, however I felt very compelled to comment on your site. I’m not sure if I printed out your valentines printables or someone elses, but I attached the water bottle printable to my 16 year old daughters bottle. I sort expected her to yell at me in the way teenagers do when you embass them & she sort of did, when she texted me MOM THE WATER BOTTLE REALLY. However since then this has become a rage & I’m using clip art to decorate many water bottles for her friends.

So in conclusion, thanks for all the great ideas, and please don’t stop being creative, because of you my daughter now calls me the creative mom
