Here are some fun good-humored tricks for you to try on your family.

Ideas for Dinner

Serve things backward. Dessert first or breakfast for dinner.

Make jello look like juice!

Pour your favorite flavor of Jello into drinking glasses and insert a straw in each glass. Let set in the fridge. Your kids will say “huh??!”

Turn plates upside down

Use a giant spoon, ice scoop, or spatula to eat with.

Trick your family with meatloaf cupcakes with mashed potato frosting.

Make your water change color

Freak out your kids or spouse by adding Crayola Color Dotz Bath Tub Tints inside the faucet! Unscrew the cap on the faucet, and set a couple of the tablets inside. When the water is turned on, get ready for a burst of color! And it’s easy with no clean up.  (Water prank found on Martha Stewart)

  2. Haha! I’ve never really been much of a prankster myself, but I remember one year my step brother changed all the key covers on the computer keyboard so that they were in alphabetical order. It took some serious thinking (and not looking at the keyboard) to type anything. 🙂

  3. I work at Starbucks and some people that I work with decided last night to put timers hidden all over the store and set them to go off at exactly 4 am when the openers walked in the door. They had to search for them all over while the timers were all beeping LOUDLY!

  4. Oh my — those meatloaf cupcakes look so yummy. And kinda gross at the same time, lol.

    Thanks for the ideas!!

My husband runs a few message boards, so we’ve done quite a few fun things for April Fool’s – like telling all the members that we weren’t going to keep it free any more. Except that one kind of created a little riot. 🙂

  6. I love the meatloaf cupcakes. That is what my two and four year old are going to get. How fun, thanks for passing this on. I think they will love it.

  7. I helped put a skunk in someone’s mailbox once…that’s probably the best prank I’ve pulled off…yes, it was dead roadkill…and yes, he deserved it…HA! I’ve also filled a very IRISH teacher’s classroom with orange balloons and made a chalkline of a dead leprechaun on the floor…Funny, but none of my good pranks have ever fallen on April Fool’s I don’t think…hum…weird…
