Cherry Jello Jigglers – Party Recipe

I hope you are having a fantastic Holiday and ready to ring in the New Year! My last-minute Christmas party was a lot of fun. I made the cutest Jello Jiggler treats that would be perfect for any party or an after school treat.

If you are on Pinterest like me, then you might have seen this cool idea with the cherries in jello jigglers.

I love my Wilton Star Silicone Molds and finally got another chance to use them.

For these jello jigglers, I used Knox gelatin and juice. You could use any flavor of Jello.

To keep the treats from sticking to the mold, I lightly sprayed it with cooking spray then rubbed the corners with a paper towel. You can’t taste the spray and it made the jello pop out easy.

The bottom layer is Knox gelatin, pomegranate juice and pineapple juice. I let that layer cool in the refrigerator for about 20 minutes while I made the top layer with white peach cranberry peach juice cocktail and more Knox gelatin.

According to this recipe, I cut the bottom off of the cherries and let them drain. When the bottom layer of the jigglers was cool, I added the cherries and poured the top layer around them.

Add sprinkles before serving and listen to your guests oooh and ahhh over them!

I laughed that pretty much every parent thought they were spiked and for the adults. So if you’re having a New Year’s Eve party, you could make fancy jello shots and serve with some glitter sprinkles!

4th of July Marshmallow Pops

These are marshmallow pops with a glamorous story. They are actually somewhat famous.

What do you bring when attending a Fourth of July party hosted by woman with a New York Times best selling cookbook? Yes, you guessed it. Glimmering goodies.

I made these for Ree who is a great cook, and a very well known one at that. I wanted to impress her, to dazzle her with my most favorite cake ever, but then remembered I was in my little tiny home town. My dazzle was all a frazzle. Things are much slower where I come from. Grocery stores close at dinner time.

With little time to spare and some lollipop sticks I brought from Dallas, I headed to the store to see what I could come up with. Since all I could find were basic red and blue sprinkles, that pretty much made up my mind. No yummy homemade recipe, but I could sure make something basic look pretty darn cute! Yes, I would dazzle her with my cuteness!!

As I walked toward the party with my dazzling desserts, not only did Daisy the cow (who thinks she’s a dog) come very near to get a peak at the cuteness, but a big group of children as well. They spotted the glimmering goods and sprung out of nowhere, bouncing off of trampolines and fences with hands a grabbing.

Ree saved my sugary treats by holding them high over her head and stashing them in her kitchen pantry to keep the kids out of them until dessert time. No wonder she cooks so much. I bet she has hidden sweets in her pantry plenty of times!

Good thing I had a plan for the adults too. Although I think these chocolate cake balls were gobbled up by the kids as well. As a matter of fact… I’m positive.

I was happy when the desserts came out later in the evening. They were gone in just a few seconds, but heck, they sure were cute!

Try them out at your 4th of July party and watch them disappear along with the fireworks.

You’ll need:

Marshmallows
Lollipop Sticks
White Almond Bark
Red & Blue Sprinkles
A box, flowerpot or other fun container
Styrofoam (to hold the sticks)
1-2 bags of Red Hots (for sprinkling over the styrofoam)
Ribbon or a Bandana (optional for decoration)
Free Printable Tags (just because they are cute)

Directions

Cover a cookie sheet with foil or wax paper.
Melt the almond bark in the microwave for a minute. Stir until it’s creamy.
Dip the lollipop stick into the melted almond bark and stick into a marshmallow.
Dip the marshmallow into the melted almond bark. Tap it a bit on the edge of the bowl until it’s all even.
Roll the marshmallow into a dish of sprinkles until covered.
To make the flag versions, don’t put the lollipop stick in first. Use a toothpick or two. After covering both ends with the different colors, push the stick into the marshmallow.
Stick into the styrofoam container, then cover with red hots.
