Nearly one year ago I met Angie, my partner over at I Heart Faces, in person for the first time at the BlissDom Conference for bloggers in Nashville. We had just started I Heart Faces and thought it would be a great way to get to know each other better while also learning a few things about blogging. Luckily we hit it off right away and we haven’t killed each other yet:-)

If you have never been to a blog conference before, I highly suggest attending BlissDom ’10. It’s a smaller conference (only 500 attendees) and a terrific way to connect with other bloggers. Plus we’ll be there and would love to meet you!!

Angie is doing a workshop with an awesome panel of photographers and I will be speaking along side talented graphic designers (Darcy & Sarah) about improving your brand and online presence through design elements and easy DIY ideas.

Workshops will be 1-2 hour sessions in small, classroom settings. Boxed lunch and refreshments will be made available to Wisdom Workshop attendees.

One thing we realized after attending last year was that we were NOT prepared at all. We had some fun business cards and I Heart Faces T-Shirts to wear, but other than that we were clueless about how to let people know about our website.

If attending a blog conference (and many others are coming up very soon!)… a fantastic way to promote yourself is through laptop and iPhone stickers. They are about $10 and a necessity if you want to promote your brand. It’s really hard to put faces with names, but very easy to recognize a blog banner. 

We saw several of these last year, but had no clue where we could have bought them. NOW we know! Nashville Photo Walk

We are planning to host a free photo walk on Sunday, February the 7th after the conference for anyone in the Nashville area.

I have a few new toys I wanted to share with you. First off, I got a new Tamron camera lens this weekend at the I Heart Faces Photography workshop. I just upgraded to a DSLR camera a few months ago, so I wasn’t sure if getting a lens was something I really needed. But after they let us test some out for the day, I was hooked on the 18-270mm VC lens.

I’ve been trying it out since getting home and loving it. I didn’t move on these 2 shots which were taken about 3-5 seconds apart.

Very cool! I love the 15X zoom and stabilizer! Now I can sneak photos of my kids without them knowing.

I found a new website called Photovisi that allows you to easily create photo collages in seconds. I made these from some of the workshop photos from our workshop Flickr pool.
