Valentine’s Day Photo Ideas

If you have a small child or grandchild, take time to do something CUTE with photos. Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to take out that camera and get creative.

I know I wish I had done more of that when my son was little, because now there is NO WAY I can get him to do my cute poses anymore or wear something adorable. Boo!

For example, you could set up a silly kissing booth as a photo booth. Of course moms are doing all of the kissing right??

Nancy from A to Zebra Celebrations came up with this fun idea for a photo booth for a Valentine’s Day Party. We’ll show you the all of the amazing party details on Monday, but here is a sneak peek at the photo booth.

Really, just wearing some lipstick and kissing your child’s cheek makes an adorable photo! That’s if they’ll let you do it:-)

My other website, I Heart Faces, is having it’s third year anniversary this week!! It seems like just a few months ago that Angie and I were planning our ideas for a fun little website, never thinking it would last this long or become as popular as it did! So popular that we’re now ranked in the top 15 out of all photography blogs! Crazy huh?

We’re having a BIG celebration this week with a fantastic guest judge, amazing giveaways and our favorite photo challenge of the year… “Best Face Photo of 2011″.

I looked through a lot of my photos and this Baseball Party photo has to be one of my most favorite photos from 2011! It’s just so cute and vintage, the boys were so good, plus I had a blast styling everything!

The Vintage Baseball Party Printables are now available in my shop. It’s a great party collection for any age. My friend Christel from Boutique Mia designed the boy’s clothes. She makes the most amazing handmade clothing.

Adorable Puppies – Pet Photo Challenge

Our photo challenge at I Heart Faces this week is Pets and the photo must include a face.

There’s nothing cuter than puppy faces. Well, maybe kitty faces… or puppies and kittens together! I met these little babies on Halloween night. They were in a wagon with their parents who were dressed in little doggie costumes. All of the children were going crazy over the cuteness.

I hope they made you smile. We always have a blast on pet week!

I Heart Faces Photo Challenge – Autumn Splendor

I’m one of the creators of I Heart Faces, a photography blog, but I’m not a professional photographer.

I did become a newborn photographer for a short while though. I love taking photos of babies, but with tons of editing and the time it took away from my design business and blogging, being a photographer became too much. I had to give it up.

Every now and then I offer photography services to friends and that gives me much joy! This weekend, I took photos at my friend Bia’s 40th birthday party. I sure have a LOT of friends turning 40 this year. Her party was gorgeous and I can’t wait to show you the photos and amazing details!
What I love about being a photographer is the challenge of trying to capture a person’s personality in just a few seconds and then the joy that it brings someone when they see the final product.

Bia told me she has never had a photo she liked of herself in her 40 years until now. Seeing her smile when she saw her photos sure makes me wish I had more time to be a photographer. Maybe someday.

This week at I Heart Faces, our photo challenge is Autumn Splendor. The leaves are just now changing in Dallas. I think they changed just for Bia’s party!

Breast Cancer Awareness – Pink Photo Challenge

Our photo challenge this week at I Heart Faces is “Tickled Pink”. This fun photo was taken today at my daughter’s birthday party! It was so much fun. I’ll show more photos later this week.

We chose pink as the challenge this week to bring awareness to Breast Cancer and remind women to get their mammograms. My mom is a breast cancer survivor and I pray that there is a cure soon so these sweet girls never have to worry about it.
