Yarn Christmas Trees – DIY Craft

Need a fun and easy craft or decoration for the holidays? These cute Yarn Christmas Trees submitted by Michelle, would look great in any room of your home!

Michelle used them as decor for a Christmas party. I absolutely love these colors! What a pretty party.

I think the Christmas trees would be a perfect craft for kids or to make as a centerpiece for a table. For my kitchen, I can picture a few of them wrapped in red on a cake stand surrounded by small glitter ornaments. I love that it is such an easy, no mess craft!

What you need:

3 Foam Trees (I purchased from Hobby Lobby in the floral craft section and got the three different sizes they sell)
Yarn
Decorative ornament balls (I bought this large pack of bright colors from Hobby Lobby for only $2.99)
Hot Glue Gun

Directions
1. Wrap your trees with the yarn.

Start by putting a dab of hot glue on the foam to start your yarn and to keep it in place. I actually didn’t use anymore hot glue as I kept wrapping – it stayed in place perfectly. There is no science to it really, I just kept wrapping – I did not wrap the yarn perfectly as I kind of like the “messy” look of it compared to the perfect lines – plus that would take a bit longer Wrap the trees until your foam is completely covered (takes a couple of minutes) and end your yarn with another dab of hot glue.
2. Hot glue your ornaments.
3. Add a snowflake or ornament of your choice to the top.

No Sew Fabric Crafts

Awww! I love this photo of my baby (oh how she’s grown!) and her little no sew shirt was really easy to make. It reminded me again of my love of hot glue and NOT having to use my sewing machine. Here are more fabulous no sew fabric crafts that I hope you enjoy!

Tidy Mom made a scarf out of a T-Shirt! I have to make one, maybe I’ll get it done by the fall:-)

I still love the Mermaid Tails I made for my daughter’s party! These are very easy to make if you need a quick costume or party idea.

Fabric flowers can be so easy! I’m the no sew queen, so anything I can make without having to use my sewing machine is right up my alley.

With Mother’s Day and Teacher Appreciation Week getting near, I decided to research how to make fabric flowers for gifts. Where have I been??

Sweet Fairy Party

I’m excited to show you the first real party with my new Fairy Printables! This was my neighbor Lauren’s 4th birthday party and it was magical.

The party started by entering the “Fairy Changing Room” (aka coat closet) where you would be turned into a real fairy! After a few magic words along with pixie dust sprinkled on your head, you got to pick out your very own fairy tutu to wear to the party! How cute was that?

Then it was time to eat and sing happy birthday. What nice day to eat cupcakes outside!

Next we made fairy wands. (This activity is also included in my Fairy Party Pack.) It was a nice no mess activity and a big hit with the girls.

Lauren’s mommy made all the tutus herself. She cut tulle into strips, tied them to a ribbon and added a hair bow for some bling. A perfect party favor!

Mermaid Birthday Party

My baby wanted a mermaid party.

Here is what she got…. Enjoy!

I had the best time drawing her as a mermaid for the invitation!

Her name was on the invite, I just put “girl” on here for the blog.

I think these cupcake toppers took a lot longer to make than the cup cakes! I now have them for sale in my shop.

The food was sushi sandwiches, brownie bombs, brownie starfish pops, goldfish crackers, fruit, pizza and blue Gatorade.

Little Mermaids

The guests were four little girls and one little boy (her boyfriend!). More about him later… ha!

I made these easy no sew mermaid tails for the girls. I didn’t realize how tall they all were compared to my girl! So some were way shorter than they should have been. You can see directions on how to make these at the bottom of this post. Of course, each mermaid got a crown too!

We had lots of fun and games!

Pin the crown on Ariel (which even the older brothers wanted to do), an under the sea treasure hunt and the older siblings had a blast in the dance contest! Oh my… there were some moves going on that should have been outlawed!! LOL! And of course opening presents at the end was a big highlight!

Taking photos as a mermaid was a hit, even with a few boys!!

I bought a large blue foam core board and spray glued a large cut-out of the mermaid drawing. I cropped in close so you couldn’t see their hands holding the board.

More Decor & Goodies

I found cute Ariel lunch boxes half-off at the Disney Store and filled them up for goodie bags. The boys all got Sponge Bob cups filled with pirate stuff. Centerpieces were big cut-outs on silver chargers with pearls and shells surrounding them. I also had a table with a treasure chest and more food, but didn’t get photos.

How To Make…

A no sew mermaid tail.

Sushi Sandwiches

Roll cheddar cheese, cucumbers, cream cheese and turkey up in a piece of white bread. I also added mustard to some.
