I love to bake, but since I have a small family, I usually end up eating most everything myself. So that means, time to have a party so others can gain weight with me! ha! So tonight I’m having a casual, last-minute party to celebrate Christmas.

Along with cute printable decor, I’ll also be serving up some of my favorite appetizers, desserts and drinks. I thought I would share some of the easy recipes that I’ll be serving tonight to help you with your party planning.

Guests will love this Anipasto Bake recipe that I got from my sister-in-law from Boston.

Can I just say easiest and fanciest looking appetizer ever… Baked Brie.

As for the easiest dessert, I’m making Tidy Mom’s fudge wreath. I used gummy fruit as garnish. I’ve used M&M’s in the past as well.

Last night I added some Christmas colored M & M’s to my favorite Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe for a festive and easy treat that everyone will enjoy.

Pecan Chocolate Bars are another all time favorite sweet treat that I can’t stop eating!

Tidy Mom’s Beer Cheese Dip recipe looks delicious and is on my list to make today as well.

Football season and Labor Day weekend is here, that means it’s time to gather with friends and family for some fun! Whether you love to tailgate or you’re invited to someone’s home for a party, I’ve got some great recipes for you today!

I love Facebook and have opened my discussion tab up for you all to chat with each other. Feel free to start a discussion to ask any questions you want. Since I have about 6,000 unread emails right now (no joke!), I can’t always answer every question I get via email. Facebook discussions are a great way for all of you creative people to jump in and help each other with ideas!

A few days ago,  I asked everyone to share their favorite football food recipes. My absolute favorite dip, along with several other people in the Facebook discussions, is the Cheesy Hot Wings Chicken Dip featured above.

Jalapeno Artichoke Dip

Almost everyone loves this dip! If you don’t like hot just use marinated japenos or ones marked mild.

Ingredients

• 1 – 6-1/2 oz can marinated artichoke hearts
• 1/4 cup mayonnaise
• 1/2 cup sour cream
• 1 cup grated parmesan cheese (fresh is best)
• 1 package of cream cheese (low-fat works great)
• 1 bag of monterey jack colby cheese
• 1 small can of jalapeno pepper chopped
• (sometime I add a little pepperjack for flair)

Preparation 

1. Drain artichoke hears and chop.
2. Mix together with remaining ingredients.
3. Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.
4. Sprinkle just a little extra cheese on top for looks.
5. SERVE WITH BAGUETTE BREAD sliced thin.

Serves: 10

Bacon Bowties

It is perhaps not the healthiest recipe, but I get rave reviews everytime I make these for holidays and tailgates. I love them because you can make them ahead of time. Add this to the ones you make occasionally I suppose. They are addictive!

Ingredients 

• 1 lb bacon – cheapest/thinest cut you can buy (thick cut will not work)
• box of Waverly/Club type crackers

Directions 

1. Prepare cookie sheet with foil. Then place a cookie cooling rack into the pan. This will allow you to cook the bowties and let the greese drip away. A broiler pan would work also.
2. Cut the bacon into thirds.
3. Take a cracker and wrap a piece of bacon around it’s middle tightly. Place on pan (Brown sugar sprinkling is a possibility at this point – it’s your preference.)
4. Cook at 250 degrees for approximately 2.5 hours. You can watch towards the end to keep the crackers from getting too brown. The bacon should cook nicely and draw up the middle of the cracker making a bowtie.
5. Serve either hot or cold. These are great for a tailgate or make ahead appetizer.

Easy Chili Dip

Ingredients 

• 1 block cream cheese
• 1 bag cheddar chs
• 1 can hormel chili (we usually no the no beans one)

1. Spread cream cheese on bottom layer of a baking dish, then chili, then cheddar cheese.
2. Broil on high until cheese melts and serve with tortilla chips!

Want to lighten it up? I’ve made it with low fat cream cheese, low fat cheese & turkey chili, still good!
