I don’t watch a lot of TV, but when I do, it’s usually HGTV. One of my favorite shows is Design Star which premiers tonight!

I love to decorate and took a lot of interior design classes in college, thinking I would become one when I grew up. But my love of computers and technology won me over and I ended up with a degree in graphic design instead. So watching decorating shows is my thing. How about you?

One of the designers, Leslie Ezelle, is from Dallas. So I must root for my home girl… even though I have never met her or know anyone she knows. She seems spunky, survived breast cancer and has designs that are my style like the little girl’s room above. I love a modern twist to the traditional look.

Check out her before and after corporate office designs below. In the premiere preview clip, they feature her talking away trying to do a segment about herself in less than 30 seconds, while the other designers roll their eyes. Oh… this season will be goooood!

P.S. – I’m traveling this week to do some work behind the camera as well! It’s NOT HGTV, but still a pretty cool thing. I can’t wait to tell you about it. I’ll be crazy busy and super nervous, but will try to do some updates on Facebook.

We had a blast at the I Heart Faces Photography Workshop in Dallas this weekend. It was great to be around so many inspiring woman photographers from all over the U.S. One of the fun things I planned was this super silly photo booth.

Of course having goofy lips and mustaches to pose with made it even more fun! This is me and my partner in crime, Angie.

And these two, well… can I just say they are a few of my favorite gals now! See those cool sparkly I Heart Faces shirts in the first photo? Their friend made them for us!! WOW!

I made several lips and mouths for the occasion…

Art With a Friend & Link Love

A few months ago I Heart Faces had a fun photo walk in Dallas. After getting very hot and sweaty, my friend Kerri and I took a trip over to the nice and cool Dallas Museum of Art. We ended up having the best time in the kids area! I loved their materials bar and craft area.

They had bins full scrap materials along with scissors and hole punches for kids to craft away. What I thought was interesting was there was no glue to craft with… only tape.

Well, it wasn’t JUST for kids.

We made self portraits.

Mine looks just like me right?

I hope this inspires you to get crafty with a friend (or child). You don’t need fancy supplies, or even glue for that matter, to have fun! If you visit the DMA, look for our portraits on the wall among the kid’s art!

This week’s baby theme over at I Heart Faces makes me want to be a newborn photographer full time! Oh my goodness, look at this precious little baby I got to photograph yesterday! Graphic designer, party planner, blogger, why not add newborn photographer to the list? Who needs sleep? ha!

If you live in the Dallas area and about to have a baby… I’m officially adding newborn photography to my business. Love it!

Blackberry Picking & Cobbler

Last week, we hopped in the car to drive an hour to pick blackberries. We like taking adventures and seeing new things.

The blackberries are in abundance around Texas now.

The farm’s berry bushes were so nice and trimmed, no cutting yourself at all. And talk about huge berries!

Not only do we have fond memories of berry picking with friends, but also a yummy cobbler!

I found this recipe on Tasty Kitchen, by Karly and boy is it yummy! It’s almost like a jelly doughnut. I also want to make this cake again!

If you live in the DFW area, I highly recommend visiting Duck Creek Blackberry Farm.

It’s a family owned farm and they are super nice! They are open tonight… Tuesday the 15th from 6pm -8pm and Saturday June 19th from 7am-10am.
