I have a few new toys I wanted to share with you. First off, I got a new Tamron camera lens this weekend at the I Heart Faces Photography workshop. I just upgraded to a DSLR camera a few months ago, so I wasn’t sure if getting a lens was something I really needed. But after they let us test some out for the day, I was hooked on the 18-270mm VC lens.

I’ve been trying it out since getting home and loving it. I didn’t move on these 2 shots which were taken about 3-5 seconds apart.

Very cool! I love the 15X zoom and stabilizer! Now I can sneak photos of my kids without them knowing.

I found a new website called Photovisi that allows you to easily create photo collages in seconds. I made these from some of the workshop photos from our workshop Flickr pool.

Say hello to my new toy…

I just got my new Canon EOS Rebel T1i yesterday. Yippee!!

I’m finally moving on up from my 5 year old Canon Powershot to my very first SLR camera and super giddy!! I’m so glad I bought a Canon, because I could use my current memory card and automatically knew how to use this bad boy. I’m really surprised by how light it is. It’s actually about the same size as my point and shoot. I’ll give my review next week. So far, I’m loving it and amazed at how nice my photos turn out with VERY little effort. I was working waaaaay too hard with my other camera:-) I’ll be ready for manual mode in no time!

Busy Busy

I’m busy working, playing with my camera and working on my daughter’s mermaid party. The party is this Saturday and I hardly have anything finished! Yikes…. panic!! So no award winning post today. P.S. – Did I tell you my 20 year high school reunion is next weekend!! We only had about 90 kids in our class, so probably only about 20 people will show. Hard to believe we are that old. Ugh! We never had a 10 year reunion, so will be the first time I’ve seen everyone in many years. Did you go to your reunion? If so, how was it??

I’m testing photos from my iPhone. They turned out better than I thought. Pics are NOT good at night or inside with limited light. If you get a shot outside with nice light, they are good enough to use for the web when you don’t have your “real” camera handy.

Here is a sample of what happens inside. Photos turn out very grainy and red.

I’m looking at this photo and can’t get over how different my daughter looks from me! She has such huge dark eyes like her daddy. But she is a ham and silly like her mom. My little goofy girl who loves to draw, sing and dance. Gotta love it!!

If you don’t hold the iPhone totally still, it will be blurry like this.

I’ll still cart my Canon around with me. I wish Apple had made the camera better, but I guess you can’t have it all. There has to be something that makes you want to buy the next generation right?
