Getting back into a routine will be the hardest change for us. We are NOT morning people, so I made these to hang in my kid’s rooms for them to remember what they need to do. I’m crossing my fingers these fun cards help speed things along!

The Locurto’s are always up for a good party! We’re excited to be joining the many Holiday parties in blog land!

It’s not a good party without food. So, we decided to make easy no bake cookie cottages for the party, compliments of Martha Stewart. Aren’t these adorable? My husband did most of the work. He just loves a good party!!

My real life friend Belinda makes gingerbread houses from scratch. Her kids decorate and eat this the entire month of December. I think they are fabulous and would be wonderful for the party!

This covers their entire dinning room table. What a cute little village! Don’t you just want to bite the head off that gingerbread man? Or…maybe that’s just me:-)

A few years ago they even had a swimming pool made of candy!

We decided to make a non-edible house this year. My husband made this with my kids. I’ve never seen so much glitter on the floor!

If you notice, there are only three gingerbread people. According to my husband, I’m in the house on the computer. LOL!! (he didn’t think it was as funny as I did.)

My mom gave me her cute reindeer plate collection! These were some of my grandma’s ornaments.

I hope you like our Christmas tree this year. It’s full of kid ornaments, family photos and Santas. Notice no presents under the tree. My kids would open them in 2 seconds!!

Our neighborhood goes bananas over Halloween. I thought I would show you a few of the yards and porches around here. I’m surprised I haven’t seen more yards on Mr. Linky at the Halloween party. If you have something good to show… head over there now!

Talk about spooky… look at the clouds and the moon! It looks like a face blowing smoke! This scared my son, he ran all the way home alone. Poor kid, mommy was too busy taking pictures to go with him.

I want to interrupt the Halloween Party to announce a new segment of my blog.

The Best Mommy Award!!

This award goes to the mom who goes above and beyond her normal mommy duties and deserving of a big shout out! A few of my blog friends tease each other about getting the mommy award when we do something extra crafty or survive a kid catastrophe, so I thought I would create a real life award. When I re-design my site next month, I will have an entire page dedicated to these moms, plus a place for you to nominate the mom of your choice.

I’m excited to present my very first award to artist and mommy extraodinaire

Dawn Papandrea-Khan

Dawn is an artist and decorative painter in New York.  She is also a wife and mother of 2 small children (ages 2 & 3) and expecting her 3rd in early November.  Dawn has several web sites about painting, but my personal favorite is her Nursery Murals blog. I wish I had known about this when I was working on my nursery! Not only is she the author of this site, she maintains a decorative painting business and virtual assistant business. I follow Dawn on Twitter and chose her for my very first mommy award because I’m always amazed at what she is tweeting about! I’m not kidding, this mom does it all… homemade dinners, several small businesses, mommy duty, wife duty, leads a bible study, paints and decorates, maintains a great blog! WOW! You go girl! Did I mention she has 2 preschoolers and another baby due very soon baby?? I’m doing good to get out the door with my kids dressed and a shower each day! ha.

Congratulations Dawn, you deserve this award. I wish you all the luck with the new baby!!
