Reality Check & Free Printable

Reality Check - Messy Desk!

I was sitting here at my computer feeling very overwhelmed. How will I get it all done?  I have so many jobs on my list, I have so many emails to read, I have so many kid activities, I feel fat and want to work out, but I don’t have time. Should I just skip putting out Christmas lights this year? If so, we’ll be the only one on the block with a dark house. Does it really matter?

My life is good. I have great opportunities, I have a healthy family and friends, I love my job. I should stop worrying about if I can do it all and just go make some coffee and get things done. I am just overwhelmed apparently and needed a 10 minute break, so I made this free printable for you. You can frame it if you want. Maybe it will remind you that when you feel overwhelmed, so does someone else out there!

This is sized to 4×6 and ready to frame.

Okay enough of my public melt down. Back to work! 🙂

  12. Guess what, Amy? I decided NOT to put up lights outdoors this year; I just don’t have the time. However, I am enjoying looking at my neighbors lights.

    • @gigi,

Way to go! I decided that as well last night. Then this morning my daughter pointed to the bushes outside and said, “Mommy, we need to put lights out so Santa can find out house.” MOM FAIL! Now I have to put them out…. LOL!

  13. I have a off the subject Q: I’m getting my firs macbook pro in just a couple of weeks (yeah Christmas!!) Can you tell me what software you use to create printables? I’m very artistic, and would love to make some stuff for my neice and nephew. (Millions of ideas surround abound… )
Thank you SOOOO much for any tips!!

  14. I had a mini melt down on Monday so I totally get it. I just started working from home about a month ago. I find it so hard to shut it down and take care of my household stuff. I need to get better about prioritizing things. We still don’t have our lights up outside nor our tree. I do have some Christmas decorations out. I suggested to my family that we just put our presents around some little trees that we have already lit up. The idea was not met with enthusiasm!

  15. I know what you mean!! And my desk looks very similar. I’m a freelance graphic designer, Mommy to a 7 year old and 1 year old, and my husband actually said to my daughter the other day, “ask your mom, she runs this house”. I had a temporary moment of pride (Oh honey, thanks!!), then dread (I do?!), LOL. Hang in there sista, and have a cup o’ joe, then start going to a boot camp on Monday (like me). 😉

    • @Denise,
Thanks! Oh man, good luck everything and with boot camp. I have tried that, but I can’t get up that early. I need late afternoon boot camp:-)

  16. So funny, Amy!

  17. Put your health 1st ( working out ) & everything else will fall into place.

  18. so true… I got overwhelm more often lately!

  19. Well said!
