Cheesy Hot Wings Chicken Dip

Make this Hot Wings Chicken Dip Recipe right now! It's so good. via

My friend Ted sent me another yummy appetizer dip recipe to try. Believe me, you’re going to love this!  This recipe is perfect for a football party or pretty much any kind of gathering where you need to bring an appetizer.

I call this Hot Wings Chicken Dip girl football food:-) If you make it for the guys, you would need to prepare at least two batches! They will scarf it down because it’s so dang good.

  • 3 Cups Cooked Chicken Breast  (Rotisserie chicken works great and saves tons of time)
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese
  • 12 oz of Blue Cheese or Ranch Dressing (I used Blue Cheese)
  • 1 1/2 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 – 2 cups Buffalo Wing Sauce/Hot Sauce (Ted recommends Franks Hot Sauce)

  1. Preheat oven to 350°
  2. Put chicken in a food processor and chop until crumbly
  3. Put chicken in a casserole dish and press/down until the bottom is completely covered (about 1/4 in thick)
  4. Sprinkle hot sauce on chicken (do not mix in, just sprinkle on top of the pressed chicken until it is covered. Put as much as you would like on here. I didn’t use that much of the Franks and it was still really spicy to me.)
  5. Melt cream cheese and combine with the dressing
  6. Pour cream cheese mixture over the chicken (again do not mix, just pour over the chicken until completely covered.)
  7. Bake for 20 minutes or until hot and bubbly.
  8. Add cheddar cheese and bake a little more until it’s melted.

  1. Looks so delicious!

  2. Can you make this ahead of time?

  3. This is a fave with my daughter’s cheer team. I’ve found a cheater method, too! I spread the cream cheese out in a pyrex, sprinkle the chicken over it, pour the ranch over that and put mozzerella, jack, n cheddar over it. We serve it with celery in Rochester like they do in Buffalo 😉 and also with Triscuits Rosemary/Garlic or Scoops. Love this!!

  4. Can I prepare this in a casserole dish (other than heating in oven) and keep refridgerated until ready to cook next day?

  5. This dip has been a family favorite for a several years now. Only thing I do to the same recipe is add 2 cups of chopped celery. In Buffalo NY we always have Celery with our Wings and Blue Cheese. I also don’t layer – I mix everything together including the cheese in one big bowl and bake in oven 25 minutes.

    • The celery addition sounds great. I’ll try that next! Thanks!

    • We actually EAT it with Celery. I serve some chips/bread with it, but mostly celery sticks and carrot sticks.
I also have always premixed the dip before baking, but I think I would like your method better, as I hate how the chicken doesn’t stay chunky in my recipe.

  6. I love this version of the recipe. I saw one on Pinterest that had canned chicken & I’d much rather use rotisserie chicken.

  7. danielle says:

could i make this the same way except put it in a crock pot?

  8. This may be one of the best things I have ever tasted!!! 😀 I made it for a girls night… and it was a huge hit!

  20. Yummy #recipe – Cheesy Hot Wings Chicken Dip

  21. there is a variation on this as well – use ranch instead of blue cheese and also melt in velveeta cheese. i use shredded chicken in a can and put it in a crock pot for tailgates. always a favorite! we use an entire bottle of the franks redhot buffalo wing sauce.

  22. You are forgiven =) totally going to make this one.
